Re: Lynx Vs. Game Gear

Most Lynx games were duds? You're killing me w/that! I think the Lynx has an excellent signal to noise ratio in its library. Rygar. Awesome Golf. Rampart. California Games. STUN Runner. KLAX. Classics! I owned both back in the day and I only ever ended up buying a handful of GG games whereas today I...

Re: Most Worthless Console You have Ever Owned?

I have owned a VB since launch, actually the Japanese launch, and still enjoy it. It's a unique console kind of like the Vectrex. There are some mediocre games on the Vectrex but even if you just get the console w/Minestorm it's worth it IMO. I've long been a defender of the 32X and have come around...

Re: What game system's lack of sucess shocked you?

I would agree with both the Lynx and the DC, probably more so with the Lynx. It was ahead of its time, but the battery life was a problem. The technology was amazing, hardware scaling in a portable system at that time was unheard of. Any retro gaming fan should definitely pick up a Lynx, there are p...

Re: 2015/7/29: Neo Geo: Metal Slug (MVS), Treasure of the Caribbean (CD)

Not sure I posted about this, but both Slug reviews allude to the fact that Metal Slug X was on the PSX in 2001. Metal Slug X was originally a Neo Geo game brought out to "fix" what was wrong with MS2, namely the slowdown. There were 6 Slug games on the Neo Geo platform: MS1, MS2, MSX, MS3...

Pete Sampras Tennis was the only J-Cart released in the US. The other 2 Micro Machines games should work fine on an NTSC Genesis, just will play too fast.

Re: Book Review: Commodore 64: A Visual Compendium

BITD I never knew the Amiga was even a thing until a buddy of mine would have yearly sleep over parties and he had 2 Amigas. Outside of those parties, I never saw another Amiga since they weren't really very popular in the States. I remember being blown away by the graphics at the time. Some day I'l...

Re: Factual error thread

I remember a more appropriate thread for what I'm about to write, but can't find it and it's Friday so I'm done putting forth an effort in anything :) In the Neo Geo console review it states that games were programmed inefficiently to consume maximize space, this is not true. The actual game code is...
