Re: 2017/11/19: Nintendo Switch: Sine Mora EX, Super Mario Odyssey

I just "finished" Mario Odyssey so your review is timely. I got to say, no way in the world would I rate this an A+. It's a great game, but it has many issues. Namely, the game has ZERO challenge. The boss battles are derivative and lack any challenge or originality. Also, I found the sta...

Rocket League (Switch)

My plan was to pick up Doom, or Skyrim, as the next game after Mario Odyssey. Instead, I downloaded Rocket League ($20, as opposed to $60 for the aforementioned games). The best way to sum up the game? It's soccer with RC cars. It has a learning curve, but it is very addictive! On a side note, I'm b...

Re: Super Mario Odyssey

When choosing your kingdom, hit Y and it provides a list of all of the moons you've collected, along with blank spaces to let you know how many moons are left in that kingdom.

Re: Got me a SWITCH!

Congratulations on getting a Switch! Having owned mine for the past few months, I'm willing to admit that I was (mostly) wrong in my criticisms (though I stand by my original opinion that they need to do something about the absurd prices of some of the games). Ahem. Anyway: -Splatoon 2. I didn't get...

Re: Super Mario Odyssey

200+ power moons in, and I'm going to have to give this an easy A+. It's charming, gorgeous, the levels are brilliantly designed, at no point has it felt like a slog, the music is stunning (this may be my new favorite score in the entire series!), the 2D segments are a blast, and (I haven't seen thi...

Re: Super Mario Odyssey

I've put about five hours into it, and I am loving it! It's way too early to call it the best Mario game of all time, but it IS great! These are the things that stood out to me, for better or worse: 1). The fact that they are still using text is beyond silly, in 2017. They could have taken the BotW ...

Re: Why does EA hate Nintendo Switch so much?

Part of the problem is that third parties tend to get a bit obnoxious when it comes to the ports that they release. In the case of EA, they release a gimped soccer game on Switch for the same price as the more fully-featured title on PS4/Xbox. Also, even though I'm personally excited for it, was LA ...

Re: SNES Classic

I know that I'm probably in the minority, but I am so glad that they stuck to authenticity and didn't include a reset button on the controller. I have naturally fidgety hands and I know that, had they included one, I would accidentally bumped it more than once. Another reason why I like having to ac...

SNES Classic

I was lucky enough to land my preorder, which I picked up first thing last Friday. After spending a considerable amount of time on it (Yoshi's Island and Final Fantasy III have taken most of my time), here are a few thoughts: -it reminded me of how much I miss the simplicity of turning on a console,...

Re: Cartridges making a comeback?

Pffft, some comeback. Grossly overpriced games ($50 for a port of LA Noir while the remastering t of the game is priced at $40, and this is far from being an isolated case), the return of compression techniques, etc. I guess that I don't see it as some sort of victory lap. What has really been gaine...
