Re: The depressing reality of some Nintendo fans (a rant)

I think some fans' expectations can be a little unrealistic. I mean, the Switch hasn't even been out a year yet! And, there's been already been a Zelda and Mario game released. Yes, this Direct was a bit underwhelming for 1st party stuff, but it was just a "mini" Direct. Wait until future...

Re: The depressing reality of some Nintendo fans (a rant)

I always love a chance to rag on the group of over-obsessed Nintendo fans out there; they're unbearable to listen to. But unfortunately, I can't say that I blame them this time. "Good third party support" does not entail a bunch of ports and remasters of old games that Sony and Microsoft ...

The depressing reality of some Nintendo fans (a rant)

Okay, so I was genuinely impressed by the Mini Direct this morning. I like seeing that third parties are now giving Switch some decent support. Though the news of Dark Souls Remaster was generally met with praise, there has been a quite a bit of—-well, here are some examples of what I’ve read: -imag...

Re: Dark Souls Remastered

I know that it is a remaster of an older game, but this is the game that makes my purchase of a Switch 100% justified (goodbye, buyer's remorse). It's in my top ten favorite games of the past ten years, and having it on the go has been something that I have wanted since I first bought a Vita! Such a...

Re: I got a Switch . . & I like it!

Im going to disagree with that. When you look at the games that have been released, you can see that big 3rd party devs are testing the waters with the Switch. Bethesda with DOOM, Skyrim, and Wolfenstein 2. Rockstar with LA Noire. EA will most definitely release a Madden coming up. Yes, not much ha...

Re: I got a Switch . . & I like it!

Yeah, I do agree with you that there is nothing that has been announced that can top the 1-2 punch of Mario and Zelda....yet. Really, all they would have to do is announce Pokémon, Smash Bros, or Animal Crossing to change that. As far as third parties, I think that 2018 looks much more promising. Me...

Re: I got a Switch . . & I like it!

I got my Switch as a "treat" to myself and I really wanted to play Mario. I haven't been disappointed. I am currently hooked on Zelda and what a game it is. Mario and Zelda are all you need. 2018 looks a bit bleak as Triple A titles go for the Switch (IMHO) but it is a fun system. Me and ...

Re: I got a Switch . . & I like it!

Your story echoes mine. Feeling burned by the Wii U, I saw Switch as following that same trajectory, but with less games (outside of BotW, there wasn’t much in that immediate window that grabbed me). And then the successes started mounting..... Porting PS3/360 games to Switch feels different than it...

Re: 2017 for Nintendo - Good, Great or just okay

This year has been one of Nintendo's absolute best, and that is coming from a very vocal critic of Switch! I mean, in less than one year, we have received: -one of the best Zeldas -one of the best Marios -a very fun Mario crossover. -the successful return of Metroid -Xenoblade 2 -the definitive edit...
