2014/11/26: Atari 2600: Ram It, Spitfire Attack, Subterranea

I usually agree with the reviews here, but I can't disagree more on Subterranea...I love it, I consider it a true jewel and I think that only Stargate reaches that level of excellence in side-scrolling shooters for VCS. Well, Stargate may be even better, but the control scheme in Subterranea is much...

2013/5/5: Atari XEGS: Crime Buster, Hard Hat Mack, Wizard of Wor

I love playing Wizard of Wor with my VCS... and that game seems to be awesome on every system, as I could verify in emulation. If I remember correctly, the coin-op has the disappearing shots too, and doesn't let you shoot through the explosions, while the C-64 port lets you do that... but I'm n...

Excellent review for a truly awesome game... I think Robocop vs Terminator deserves even A-

Super Cobra on the 2600

I'd give it a C+/B- ... yes it has choppy scrolling but the graphics are quite pleasant in my opinion, its main flaw is that (on default level, the one I use to play) it's a long and not-so-hard journey aside from 4 or 5 hugely difficult points where you need a perfect timing, and this may caus...

Robocop Vs. Terminator (Genesis)

I have GREAT memories about Robocop vs Terminator: it was one of the 7-8 Genesis games I enjoyed the most. The feeling of power of the Plasma-gun was matched only by the feeling of peril and impotency that you received when losing a life and remaining with only a simple gun against some huge boss......

2013/2/5: Atari 2600: Beany Bopper, E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, Mountain King

In my opinion you've been too harsh on Beany Bopper... I like it indeed. It has a typical 20th-Century-Fox-VCS-game charm, with simple yet colurful graphics and some nice touch (I like how the reserve Boppers on the top of the screen always face the same direction of the player's sprite). The action...

Most over rated bad game?

[QUOTE]I was actually going to make a thread about this since I recently picked up Atari 2600 Pac Man. After playing it for myself, I can't figure out what everyone hates about it. It's about what I expect for Pac Man on Atari. The gameplay is still there. You still move around the maze, eating pell...

Atari 2600: Centipede or Millipede, which is the best?

In a topic about the best titles for VCS I put Centipede and not Millipede, because at that time I hadn't played Millipede yet. Then I tried it... and I was astonished: so many objects moving across the screen, so no-stop action... ...

Missing Atari 2600 Reviews?

I'd like to see these reviews:
Acid Drop, Pick'n'Pile: two PAL exclusives, two games from the same guy, D.M. Kiss, two puzzle games (one falling-blocks game and one... pick'n'piling-blocks game...), in my opinion one is a little gem and one is a piece of garbag...
