Re: VentureBeat article "Consoles need to ditch discs and embrace digital downloads"

I disagree with this point. All you need to do is look at the music industry. Cds are no longer in Best Buy, and there's very few now in Target, Walmart, etc. Has this hurt the record labels? Not at all. They have embraced the streaming model and record labels are making record (excuse the pun) pro...

Re: Uncharted 2 vs. Uncharted 4?

I may be in the minority, But I really liked the first game. The third game was awesome when I first played it, and the game had a lot larger environments, but wasn't as exciting for me when I went back to play it. Check out lost legacy as well, though not as long , it’s a great addition to the ser...

Re: VentureBeat article "Consoles need to ditch discs and embrace digital downloads"

Like everyone else here, I completely disagree with the article. But it does hint at a notable point -- it's likely the retailers that will keep physical releases going for years to come, more so than consumers. It's all about the money. Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo don't care much what we all thin...

Re: Vita Games?

Nice start! Although you mostly have retro games, 4 of those games are on my personal Top 10 of all-time favorite games (FF Tactics, FF7, Symphony of the Night, and Metal Gear Solid). So I'm a fan of your choices. You'll have to keep us posted on what you think, especially FF Tactics. I'm interested...

Uncharted 2 vs. Uncharted 4?

For years, I was never interested in the Uncharted series, despite the excellent reviews. So I never played any of the three PS3 games. Flash forward to my PS4, which came bundled with Uncharted 4. I figured it was time that I finally try the series. As it turns out, Uncharted 4 was my favorite curr...

Re: Baseball in Decline?

As for baseball.. despite being a very avid sports fan, and capable of watching almost any sport, baseball is one I truly dread. It's so slow and boring. At-bats take way too long. It's a whole lot of nothingness, sprinkled with very brief moments of excitement. Not worth it; I can't sit through it....

Re: Baseball in Decline?

See what happened here.... baseball is so boooring that we went ahead and switched this topic to a sport people actually care about - football! The implementation of this new helmet rule will be interesting, but I don't see it changing the game all that much. A few years back they made a new rule th...

Re: Pokemon Red (Game Boy)

Of all the things I've been wrong about in gaming, the biggest was my belief in the 90s that Pokemon was just a fad. I know I wasn't alone, but I thought Pokemon and Pokemon Cards would be dead and gone by 2000. Despite being a big RPG fan, I skipped over the Pokemon phenomenon and never got into it...

Re: God of War (PS4)

Based on the Gamespot review I read, the series has been completely revamped for this game. It now takes a lot of cues from open-world RPGs, supposedly. And the combat has a ton of changes. I played God of War II and never really got into it. I liked it for a little while, but had no interest in com...

Re: Games that would benefit from a Battle Royale mode?

For non-FPS games, here's another one: Twisted Metal. Imagine 1 vs 100 in that series.

And other series with car combat too, like the old Destruction Derby series.
