Re: Best time of year for gaming?

As the cold air has moved in it occurred to me that we are approaching the best time of year for gaming. 1. Harsh weather and less hours of light means more time spent indoors. It's more comfortable to curl up with a game when it's cold out. 2. Many of the big-name titles are released around the ho...

Blinking Light Win - Pin replacement for NES

Several years ago I replaced my faulty pin connector on my NES with an Ebay connector. Now my replacement pin connector is shot. So, I did some research on line and ordered a "Blink Light Win" connector. This connector does not allow you to push down on the cartridge, which is what causes ...

Re: Wii Shop Channel is shutting down soon. Make backups for WiiWare titles while you still can.

This is another argument for physical media. True, but if digital eshops didn't exist, then most of these games wouldn't exist. Most of these developers for digital only release games are 1 or 2 person operations and it wouldn't be feasible for them to release their games physically. I wonder how t...

Re: Cartridges making a comeback?

I think the point is that gamers are reaching a breaking point with the current paradigm of huge downloads, constant updates, and endless installs. Older gamers actually remember when you could pop in a game and play right away, and I think many realize the old way was better. The clueless media is...

Re: Cartridges making a comeback?

What comeback? Sorry, I hope that doesn't sound snarky, I'm not trying to, but there's only 1 cartridge being re-released by a major company. How is that a comeback or even the beginning of a comeback? Cartridges (as we know them, ie, NES, Genesis, SNES, etc) are not coming back. I don't see any evi...

Critic - Video game room overview?

Hey Critic, Have you ever considered doing an indepth right-up of your video game room/collection? Perhaps covering how you keep everything hooked up, how you display/store games, the number of games you have, etc. Maybe with pictures? I think this would be pretty interesting. You could discuss your...

Re: Does Nintendo hate money?

Companies do not hold back on stock to create artificial scarcity. I'm not sure why people think this. It makes no sense for Nintendo to be holding stock in a warehouse, not shipping units out just to create buzz. No company would ever do this. (I shouldn't say no company, but no successful company...
