Re: Fast Racing Neo on physical media

Grrr... I just purchased Fast Racing NEO a few weeks ago. Guess I'll be getting it again. I haven't played online, but have greatly enjoyed the single player. Can't wait to see your review...

Re: The 8-bit Home Computer Users Thread

So small update: A co-worker of mine had a few carts and disk copies laying around from his childhood C64, so he loaned them out to me while I wait for the original seller to get back to me with further loot. I was excited to find “Space Taxi” among the games loaned to me; I spent several hours play...

Re: The 8-bit Home Computer Users Thread

All good information. I still have a bunch the 5 ¼ floppies from the IBM-PC compatible my family had while I was growing up… they were stored in their sleeves in one of those shelf top organizers that were common of the era. Several years ago I picked up a surplus 5 ¼ drive from my work, installed i...

Re: The 8-bit Home Computer Users Thread

The guy who sold me the computer also hooked me up with a combination S-Video/composite cable, so I am good as far as A/V goes. I also have quite a collection of Atari/Wico peripherals from my other Atari systems... as far as I can tell I'm set there as well. I had an e-mail conversation with the gu...

Re: The 8-bit Home Computer Users Thread

So after doing some reading and acknowledging that most of the media I have collected for the other consoles/computers are cartridges (I have 3 disks and 2 tapes for my Atari 8-bit)... I think for the C64/128 I am going to focus largely on the disks. That’s a great idea you have scotland… I think I ...

Re: The 8-bit Home Computer Users Thread

Before I had much of a chance to do anything with that Vic-20 I mentioned in a prior post, I came into contact with a guy who collects vintage computers and he gave me a deal on a Commodore 128 with a disk drive that I could not pass up. He said that as soon as he finishes unpacking, he will give me...

Re: 2016/3/27: Turbografx-16: Download (Japan), Override (Japan)

I picked up "Download" in a PC Engine lot a long time ago, never paid any attention to it until I read your review. Great game! Occasionally, some guy out of the UK will put up a bunch of HuCard-TG16 adapters for around $80, but I haven't seen 'em in a while. In the absence of that, I'm in...

Re: SG-1000 Video/Audio over RF question

Hey, thanks for all the responses. I have passed this information on to my friend and will keep in touch with him to see if that changes anything or his recommendation to not get the system and instead look for a Japanese SMS to play the SG-1000 games.

Re: The 8-bit Home Computer Users Thread

That sounds awesome and under different circumstances I’m sure I would have immersed myself in the micro-computing culture of the time. The great thing is that, for the most part, the people who were in to it back in the day seem to be pretty willing to talk to new-timers about it… they seem glad to...

Re: The 8-bit Home Computer Users Thread

Quick background… I’m a 35 year old American… by the time I’m old enough to start remembering things, we had an NES and an IBM PC clone of some sort and my Dad was very adamant that there would be no gaming on the PC… that’s what the Nintendo was for… and since most of my friends also had an NES, I ...
