Re: New Stuff on Atari Age
I would like to see a review of Phase Zero. AtariAge isn't the only company which sells it; a couple of old Atari Dealers are still around, & they stock it. (Best Electronics, I think.) Not sure if there are differences between the versions; someone mentioned a patch to fix the game & make t...

Re: The Horror Movie Lovers Thread
Saw "I Bury the Living" this weekend. A man who's elected chairman of a cemetery discovers people die when he marks their plots as occupied. Interesting, but with a dissapointing ending. Well made. Some scenes are stagey, but that's normal for a 50's film, and they pull off some interestin...

Re: No campaign in new Call of Duty?
Can't read the article with scripting off; not turning it on to do so. Was this story by a staff writer or an independent contributor? From your post... Rumors are rumors; I won't make much of 'em without more evidence. I can see why a developer might drop offline portions of a game; if most of thei...

When did every application program become a RealPlayer clone? Did anyone ask for that?

Re: Billy Mitchell's Scores Removed, Including Donkey Kong
Actually, I probably wouldn't remove the score. I'd just record the challenge to it. That way someone could run a query on my database using whatever standard of proof they decided was good enough. GET SCORE AND NAME WHERE PROOF = VIDEO AND GAME = DONKEY KONG AND CHALLANGE = NONE I might be taking t...

Re: Video Game Dogs
To answer the original question: Sims 2 + Pets has dogs & cats. Not much of a game, but you still have a few objectives you're supposed to accomplish, so it counts. Most people I knew ignored the objectives to see what the Sims would do when tortured.

Re: Billy Mitchell's Scores Removed, Including Donkey Kong
I agree there must be a penalty, but I see this as going too far. I'm more concerned with the records being accurate than with any punishment for bad actors. I suppose I see the records as history in-and-of-themselves; deleting a fraudulent record would be a correction; deleting a legitimate record ...

Re: Baseball in Decline?
I would argue that those arbitrary rules kinda make the sport what it is. Change enough of them and it may not be the same sport anymore. Indeed. That's why it's not called Soccer or Rugby. If tackling was banned entirely would it really not change anything? After all, it would just be another arbi...
