Re: 2018/4/7: Nintendo Switch: Axiom Verge

I agree with the lone "glaring flaw" he has with the game, but I don't think a single flaw should hold back one of the best games he has ever played from getting an A+, whether or not the flaw is a result of the console it is being played on, and not the game itself. What I'm saying is, t...

Re: Flickr Sold; Terms Changing.

That last clause ("including to display the User Content on the Services") is such an obvious smoke screen. It's pretty clear how reasonably "reasonably necessary" is going to be interpreted.

Re: 2018/4/20: Dreamcast: Rush Rush Rally Racing DX, Rush Rush Rally Reloaded

How so? It's practically a martyred saint among gamers, almost since the day it was discontinued. Not me. Huh? A martyred saint is exactly representative of how you describe the Dreamcast. A holy man who was unjustly killed. A great console that was unjustly abandoned. Unless you meant to quote the...

Re: Hardest puzzles?

In that respect, I wished Riven had been more like the LucasArts games of the time, and had come with a small guidebook to help you solve the game's toughest puzzles. Instead, it felt to me like the game was made artificially difficult in certain spots, hoping that you would break down and cough up...

Re: I Spy: A Book of Picture Riddles

I Spy: Fantasy was the best one, but they were all incredibly beautiful. And Walter Wick has been making more books like this since the I Spy series; his latest is all fold-outs (be sure to click the "Behind-the-scenes" links at the bottom of the page!), which is really neat to me and is ...

Of course, but this is probably intended for the 98% of players who just want to have fun with a game.

Re: Hardest puzzles?

Riven is one of my absolute favorite games, but the last puzzle is ridiculous. It actually wasn't too hard to figure out the premises of the solution, but knowing what to do and doing it are very different things, and when I realized how much insane busywork would be involved in working it all out,...

Re: Baseball in Decline?

A few things. First, do you know what the new helmet rule is? Helmet-to-helmet impacts are already not permitted. The new rule they’re implementing is not that. This is when players make impact, they’re not allowed to initiate contact with their helmet, which is what every running back does when ru...
