Re: 2018/2/18: Playstation: Final Fantasy VII, Final Fantasy VIII

The Final Fantasy VII review starts with a massive pet peeve for me. Something can be the single most talked-about moment in gaming history, or it can be one of the most talked-about moments, but it cannot be "one of the single" most talked-about moments. That's completely meaningless.

Re: Book Review: The Witcher- the Last Wish

Only 6.5/10 when only one story scored lower than 7/10? Why is that? Is it just less than the sum of its parts?

Also, the author's name is pronounced ahn-dzhray (more or less; "rz" is hard to pin down with our phonemes) sap-kov-ski.

Re: Google removes 'save image'

Also, in a baffling bit of design, it looks like even large images are linked directly in the preview pane, so you can just save them from there without even bothering to go to the actual sites.

Re: Google removes 'save image'

No, they removed the "View Image" button. There is a "Save" button; I couldn't tell you what it does (except that its little ribbon icon turns yellow after clicking), but it's probably tied to your Google account. This corporate gesture means nothing. You can still go to the imag...

Huh. I remember it as being more responsive in the C64 version.

Re: Turrican (Turbografx-16)

You can shoot up. In the C64 version, you hold the joystick's single button for a rapid-fire shot that you can aim in any direction. I don't know if the controls are the same on the TurboGrafx, but that feature is definitely in the game.

Re: Worst voice acting?

The original Resident Evil seems like an obvious pick. Whenever the voice actress for Jill speaks it sounds like an alien who is trying to blend in and failing terribly. Hey, don't hang Chris out to dry. "Jill! Hair's a lockpick. It might be handy if you, the masterofunlocking, take it with yo...

I’m not interested enough to buy one but would pass some time on an emulator.

Re: Best Horse ever in video games? Best animal companion?

While we're at it, might as well throw other animal companions into the mix. I'm drawing a blank there, so I'll just go with Rush from Mega Man. Interested to hear which I'm forgetting.. Well, Yoshi's a no-brainer. Adorable, loyal, and always a big help. I especially love how he bobs in place eager...

I apologize if I come off as particularly negative. I don't mind being opinionated, but I clearly have something to work on if I'm known for my unfavorable views.
