Re: The Worst Fighting Game Ever Is Back..?

Fight For Life is not terrible on the Jaguar. It's on par with other early 3D fighters like Virtua Fighter. It's just boring more than anything else.

Re: Game/Movie collection tracking app?

About a year ago I started using Completionator (completionator.com) to track my games. It tracks a ton of info about each game. My only complaint was at the time it seemingly took a bit of time to enter the game details but it works well and has box art for most of the games. Before that, I catalog...

Re: VGC Pro Nintendo?

I think nostalgia plays a factor in how you feel about certain systems. My pre-collecting gaming history went kind of like this (in order oddly enough): Atari 400 Sega Master System NES Atari 2600 Atari 7800 Turbo Grafx 16 Sega CD After that point I started collecting. As I prefer the SMS over the N...

Re: Toys R Us files Chapter 11

I don't know if more department stores are needed or more diversified items. The electronics section of the Walmart near my house is pretty meh. There is just nothing that interests me. All current game consoles are pretty much the same in terms of capabilities with many overlapping titles. Back whe...

Re: 2018/3/22: Turbografx-16: Space Harrier, Turrican

In my opinion, when comparing Sega arcade games that used the System16/32 engine on the Genesis and Turbo, the TG/PC-Engine versions are always better IMO. I think a lot of it is because the Turbo had significantly better graphic scaling support than the Genesis (better music also). It's really evid...

Re: Sega CD Owners!

I own the first-gen (bottom loader), second-gen (top loader), and CDX units. Of all three, the CDX is my favorite due to its portability with the first-gen a very close second. I think there were some reliability issues with the first-gen units as when mine stopped working, I actually called Sega an...

Re: Toys R Us files Chapter 11

Toys R Us jumped the shark when they got rid of the glass booth up front lined with wall-to-wall video games. It was the place of dreams! Only head honcho store managers had the magic key to enter it. If I managed to get into one of those booths back in the day I would still be there. +This. I used...

Re: It's the little things...

I've always liked attention to detail in games as well as easter eggs. Not to divert from the topic too much but one of my favorite easter eggs is Superman in the Sega Master System version of Choplifter. Basically - if you land right in front of the missile silo after the second house on the first ...

Re: 1977 Game System Reviews

One of my favorites to look at is the Radio Shack catalog archive which has scans of virtually every single Radio Shack catalog published between 1939 and 2011. http://www.radioshackcatalogs.com/ Pretty interesting to look at the ones from the 70's and 80's to see the vintage PC equipment and other ...

Re: NFL 2K (Dreamcast)

NFL 2K on the Dreamcast was really good. I remember playing it for hours with my cousin. Even better was 2K1 which was the first console game we played online - and it played really well considering it was on a 56k modem. As an aside, I recently pulled out NBA 2K for my son (who is 12) so he could s...
