Re: Systems You Have Sold Off

Jeez... I'm not even remotely the only person whose parents made them get rid of systems. I have 4 on my list... In order of "most missed" 4) Atari 2600's: At one point I had 3 of these things with a massive game collection. Almost every "A" game that has been reviewed I owned. A...

Re: The worst games you have played on each system

Oh, sega saturn. I have a Saturn collection! And I have some horrible games in there. Ouch. Robotica is mentioned upthread, but giving that game a shout out. I actually beat that atrocity as a child, and nothing ever happens. There isn't any increase in difficulty or story scenes or anything... such...

Re: Worst voice acting?

Of course Resident Evil would be obvious... but I'm going to agree with the FFX hate. I have said before, and even cited it as my worst PS2 game in that thread, but I really didn't like FFX, and the voice acting was part of it. To be different though, here are my nominations: 1) Actual loser, Megama...

Re: MICROVISION (1979) - World’s First Handheld System - Review of System and All 12 Games

Just wanted to say excellent review, and you are one dedicated individual to collect such a time piece. Thanks for an added obscure trivia fact into the "in case I'm ever on jeopardy" part of my brain.

Re: Finding old controllers that work?

That is surprising to me. I’ve had my same Sony PS2 controllers for years and never had a problem. My best advice is to Buy an unused Sony or Madcatz controller off EBay for the PS2. This. Controllers for most systems are really cheap on ebay. Exceptions I've noticed are things like light guns for ...

Re: The worst games you have played on each system

Oh, and my Genesis nomination just hit me. Taz Mania, talk about a game that literally all the creative energy went into the graphics. The mine cart levels are insanely difficult, and the controls are awful all around. As a young person the graphics drew me in... but the interest was thankfully not ...

Re: The worst games you have played on each system

Alright... so my list won't have as many systems as some of you more hardcore collectors out there. NES: Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom. This might be the worst game I've ever owned/played. SNES: Batman Forever, for a time this and Super Mario World were the only games I owned on this system, ...

Emulated vs. Original format?

So, I've been having a thought. Since many of the newer retro emulator systems have things like save states and HDMI compatibility, they're looking more and more like the way to play your old games. I absolutely adore playing my old games in their original format on my larger CRT TV. But there are c...

Re: Music!

A few games that I always thought had great music: 1) Mega Man 2. This to me will always set the standard when it comes to great music in a video game. All the tracks for each stage are super catchy and super melodic. If there ever was a CD (or cassette) that was released back in the day that featu...
