Re: Would you buy a disc-free console?

Only way I would buy disc free is a cheaper emulator console or handheld. I don't like the idea of buying a game that is download only that I can't trade or sell down the road.

Re: The Legend of Zelda (NES)

I hated zelda and role playing games as a kid. It was pre internet and without a strategy guide i kept wandering around trying to figure out where to go and what to do next. You could play forever, not get further ahead, and the game may never end unless you quit. I was more of a contra guy. You did...

Re: The NES or the Cartridge?

I have only replaced a 72 pin connector once. The pins start out very tight but will loosen up over time. The black Tengen cartridges were harder to pull out than the regular gray cartridges. Still works good 5 to 6 years later.

Re: retro bit generations using yellow white red cable

Follow up. I tried a different set of composite cables. No difference. I finally plugged it in with an HDMI TV and the lines are gone. The problem using HDMI is that you get graphic glitches that do not happen when using composite. I think this unit is running normal they just used the cheapest low ...

Re: The NES or the Cartridge?

It could be games or system. Most likely replace the 72 pin connector on the system. They get dirty and bent pins over time. Make sure the game is firmly pushed in and that the tray locks in place. Don't push down hard on the cartridge or you will damage the 72 pin connector faster by bending the pi...

Re: retro bit generations using yellow white red cable

the lines are on the screen all the time on menu screen and random at start up and during games. Lines can vary from light to heavy. They typically run about 45 degree angle from left or right. I played a gameboy advance game on it and one time I saw no lines when game actually playing and next time...

retro bit generations using yellow white red cable

I recently bought a used retro bit generations. I plugged it in to a CRT TV using the included composite cable. It has lines that sometimes show up with an rf connection like a signal loss or interference. Never seen this using yellow cable on a video game system before but my Sega genesis 2 looked ...
