Re: A biased articles on why people should get a PS4 and Pro over the Nintendo Switch!

Agreed, people forget how many exclusives Sony consoles have. Several are top tier. Third party content, particularly the big budget releases, end up on the Playstation. Most do not end up on Nintendo. The Switch is a fantastic second console option, as a primary option against Sony, I have to say t...

Re: Computer Games 1998-2000

In terms of hardware, consoles historically matched or exceeded typical contemporary gaming PC's. I'm going to have to vehemently disagree with this statement, unless it's a typo and you meant literally the exact opposite :P I decided to be careful and insert the word "typical" - as in a ...

Re: Computer Games 1998-2000

I am not so sure about this. I remember when the 360 was released, and Oblivion came out in 2006. While it certainly looked the role of the "next gen" console, its frame rate at times would struggle, load times were HORRENDOUS (think of going into the cities), mods were non-existant, and ...

Re: Horizon: Zero Dawn > Zelda: Breath of the Wild

I will add, if you are just going to pick up and play and put down for later, BOTW has the lead on this one. You can save everywhere except for that one dungeon near the desert where you had to sneak around. HZD saves are suitably spaced out campfires and you cannot save if there is an enemy nearby....

Re: Horizon: Zero Dawn > Zelda: Breath of the Wild

HZD came out only a couple of weeks before BOTW but it ended up that I played BOTW first. Initially I had a difficult time immersing myself in HZD but once I actually broke free of the Sacred Lands and the story opened up, I started preferring it to BOTW. After completing my first cauldron and havin...

Re: Computer Games 1998-2000

It is never too late to play those old PC games, GOG have many of them and they have made sure they are compatible with Windows 10 via Dosbox ;) I built my first PC late in 1998 at the tender age of 17yo with help from my father. Back then it was pretty much on the higher end - a build featuring the...

Re: is the raspberry pi console or pc good for retro games ?

A Raspberry pi is one device that can emulate retro video games. The laptop or PC that you used to make this post will also be able emulate retro video games without costing you anything. Be forewarned though, some consoles have poor emulation accuracy on PC's outside of perhaps a handful of games. ...

Re: Why ARM architecture for the Nintendo Switch is better then X86 from PS4/Xbox One!

Actually the PS4 and Xbox One CPUs are actually AMD CPU D'oh! I was thinking x86/x64 but typed "Intel" instead because I'd had a long day and wasn't quite firing on all cylinders. Thanks for catching that. :) I am glad I corrected you because I know that both PS4 and Xbox One are 100% AMD...

Re: So when did home video games become "Arcade Perfect?"

Comparing niche products to home consoles, in some cases, are apples to oranges. How could we, for instance, reliably compare a real mechanical Pinball machine to a pinball video game which simulates it? Most cabinets during the 80's and 90's were set ups we are all very familiar with- a screen, a j...

Re: Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon (8-bit Castlevania III-style game)

Got it on Steam and it is available on Switch as well. $10. Well worth the price. Complete ripoff of Castlevania 3 but a lot easier. Probably a better game overall as well. Nostalgia overdrive for me, great music and graphics, an easy B+. Really looking forward to Ritual of the Night.
