Re: The Sad State of Future Retro Gaming (and Managing Storage on New Consoles)

Thing about today is probably 80-90% of the titles that are multiplatform are available on the PC as well - sites like GOG and Steam have a whopping great vintage game list and most of them work on currently OS with some tweaks. A current game 20 years from now will likely still be available for dow...

Kingdom Come: Deliverance

I am impressed so far. The developers spent a lot of time integrating actual history with the gameplay. I spend a lot of time on Google while playing just reading about the events that happened at a particular location. As a game, it is as you would expect from a modern 1st person RPG - there is the...

Re: 2018/2/18: Playstation: Final Fantasy VII, Final Fantasy VIII

I enjoyed reading the reviews having played these games to death back in the day (FF IX perhaps being my favorite of the PS1 trilogy). FF VII was a special game and, while my PS1 is long gone, I did manage to replay it on Steam fairly recently. I must say I do not believe it has aged all that well a...

Re: Times the VGC steered you right... or wrong

Steered Right: Resident Evil Revelations. Would have passed this one up, but gave it a shot based on VGC's review. I ended up really liking this one. Steered Wrong: Bloodborne should be better than a D, but I appreciate that reviewing is subjective - different strokes for different folks. Anyway avo...

Re: Emulated vs. Original format?

I am emulation as a preference my end - for all retro games that happen to be compatable. You mention save states - that is the killer app for me (good also for abusing, game too hard, save the instant before and after the hard bit). Another killer feature with some emulators are graphical enhanceme...

Re: BOTW Ending...are you kidding me? (Spoilers)*

BOTW > 200 hours sunk into it. Last game I put this many hours in was Fallout 4. Called in sick for two days to play BOTW. Would spend hours wondering the landscape looking to harvest those Centaur type enemies (Lynels). They are a bit more challenging in this game than they were in Link to the Past...

Re: Missing Jaguar Games

Brings back memories, I bough a Jaguar a few months after it came out, around 1994 I think. Traded my SNES (my first ever console) and games along with gardening/weeding money. I was at Junior High at the time. Jaguar = tale of untapped potential. Has got that low polygon vibe, but does not look too...

Re: BOTW Ending...are you kidding me? (Spoilers)*

Here is a list of things better in Skyrim in case you missed it:' 1)Towns and cities....practically empty in BOTW are bustling and full of activity in Skyrim 2)Combat....BOTW's combat is very basic. Skyrim? Cast magic? Craft weapons? Basically take on any type of combat style you like. 3)Side missi...

Re: BOTW Ending...are you kidding me? (Spoilers)*

:D Yup, Zelda BOTW sure is not flawless, with boring side quests (and pretty derivative main quest as well), 2nd rate story, unlikable characters integral to the game/story, lifeless NPC's, crummy voice acting, elementary school level dialogue, and a musical score that offers forgettable dulcet tone...
