Intimidated/overwhelmed by modern games

I grew up with a NES/SNES and still Consider that to by my favorite era of gaming, with the 64 not far behind. I currently have a gamecube, and sometimes find some games or action sequences to be pretty intimidating (such as some boss battles in Metroid Prime, etc). I'm used to this, of course, but ...

Boring Game Magazine Covers

I got game pro in the 90s and some computer gaming magazine for a while after that. I thought they were awesome! Fat and full of reviews and previews and super exciting to get. But I haven't picked one up and in last 15 years and this is the only gaming website I look at. Lol. I'll let y'all argue a...

Nintendo coming to mobile devices?

I think it could work, if only because gamers are SO familiar with their games. I don't care for most "classic console" games for my phone, because they end up feeling weird, but I play Mega Man 2 on my iPhone all the time because I think the controls translated well. I'd be down for some Super Mari...

What systems do you own ?

Y'all are awesome. In my life, I have owned: NES, SNES, 64, and Gamecube.

Just have the gamecube, and I have 3 games: Zelda Master quest, Mario Sunshine, and 1080.

I only play when really bored, and my goal is to get through 2 Zelda's this year. I know, I know...

Swordquest?

I had never heard of this until I saw the AVGN video.

http://youtu.be/LWltQ9UN5vE

Sounds like madness. An actual contest with real treasures based in a video game that hardly made sense? Sounds like a very Atari thing to do....

How does your wife/significant other/mom deal with your video games?

My wife has never been interested in games and in general, thinks they are a nonproductive waste of time. But she has TONS of hobbies and genuinely enjoys learning and cultivating new and useful skills. So it's hard to argue. Lol. I have a gamecube and she has a general disdain for it, but it's "all...

James and Mike Mondays

My favorites were when they beat the 64 Star Wars (that look on James' face after they beat IG88 is priceless) and Super Ghosts and Ghouls. I think me and my friends had some of the exact same conversations regarding the gameplay. The older videos are the best, but I like some of the newer ones, des...

James and Mike Mondays

Anyone else really enjoy these? Yeah, they're corny and crude, but it brings me back to the days of playing with friends and being stupid.....sigh.

How your gaming changes over the years

Games are just so different. In my heyday, you could beat a game in 30 minutes, which was perfectly fine because you and your BFF were hollering and having a great time. Games are more involved today and take months for me to finish. I can't sit down for 30 minutes in play Zelda---I need a rainy day...

Best Basketball Games

I really like NCAA basketball for Super Nintendo. It was a bit weird in that it followed a "behind the back" view of the player with the ball, but it was less confusing than that sounds.

Like baseball games, this genre got too realistic for it's own good.
