Re: Governments do not like loot boxes!

Bear claw machines and redemption machines at the arcade also fit this category. Should government ban redemption machines (like skeeball) and bear claw machines too? In the US, those carnival games and arcade redemption games may be regulated by state governments. In one state I am familiar with, ...

Re: Governments do not like loot boxes!

Remember, till the 70's New York banned pinball! Other way around - pinball was 'unbanned' around then in New York, when it was demonstrated to be a game of skill, not chance. It was banned decades before in the 1940s by LaGuardia before the introduction of pinball flippers, and indeed, those earli...

Re: Sears Tele-cade Games

Yeah I'm thinking about adding all the Sears games. The problem is, there's like 50 of them! http://www4.ncsu.edu/~awwatkin/ATARI/2600/AtariSears.html So do I want to add 50 mostly-empty reviews? Now I'm leaning back towards the model of just using the "aka" in a single review. Especially...

Re: Google removes 'save image'

I do mind not being able to highlight text on the critic's reviews; that's how I read things on the computer; it helps me focus. Background color doesn't matter; I highlight black text on a white b/g or white text on a black b/g. Actually since the switch I rarely use this site's reviews. If someon...

Google removes 'save image'

I do a lot of image searching, and yes, I often reuse them on places like social media. If I want to talk about Atari 2600 Pac Man, I will likely want to grab an image of the box art or gameplay. Now Google has removed the 'save image' button. This was done after lobbying by content creators. You mi...

Re: Sears Tele-cade Games

I think you should leave the Sears' games as is. If someone is looking for a review of one of the Sears titles they will find it with your explanation of what the alternate Atari title for the game is. Otherwise they might just think you haven't done a review of the game. I like it as it is, with t...

Re: 1977 Game System Reviews

Fun to read the FCCs spasms on the output. Its remarked that if the output was pure video, there would be no issue - which brings to mind systems with built in speakers. Such a fuss for nothing there.

I also see it goes into electronic handheld games lime Mattel Football coming out then too.

Re: MICROVISION (1979) - World’s First Handheld System - Review of System and All 12 Games

Funny that this (very good) thread comes along just as Microvision screen replacement efforts have suddenly gathered steam: http://atariage.com/forums/topic/275386-microvision-replacement-screen-project-pre-order-purchase-here/ Thanks to random good luck, I own two Microvisions and a complete set o...
