Re: Jelly Monsters (VIC-20)

This game looks amazing. So this Penultimate cart actually runs on a Vic 20 machine? I might need to get one. I know the VIC 20 is outside the console wheelhouse, but the number of game cartridges is not huge - maybe 175. Many are short arcade games that you might enjoy reviewing. Computers factore...

The VIC 20 had very limited RAM, and RAM expansions (either via a cartridge or as a stand alone) were common but created isues. You had to have the correct RAM expansion, as a bigger e...

Re: Jelly Monsters (VIC-20)

And this is the real reason for the Great Video Game Crash of '84: Computers had finally become cheap enough for the average person to afford, & they could do as good a job (better!) than video game systems. Jelly Monsters is a pretty amazing arcade experience, but there are many reasons cited ...

Re: Starfield for the PS5?

Yet I don't yearn for more from my car, refrigerator or really even my tv. Any improvement is either marginal or a bell and whistle thing.

Starfield for the PS5?

Bethesda announced a game, Starfield, in production for the next generation of console (possibly PS5 and whatever MS names their console). Its a single player RPG. First, is this just hype? In essence, its a game in development along current gen limitations with 'stretch goals' if new hardware is av...

Re: So when did home video games become "Arcade Perfect?"

I asked around elsewhere on this topic, and this is sort of what I got: * "Arcade Perfect" is generally accepted as 'running like the actual arcade board' and does not generally include a discussion of whether or not the controllers are similar at all. * The term 'arcade perfect' is widely...

Video Game conversations

Ever had a humorous exchange with someone during or about a video game?

A conversation with a kid:
What are you playing?
Buck Rogers
Who?
Buck Rogers. Buck Rogers in the 25th Century
Isn't it like the 21st Century?
No, he's in the future
Then why is he in an old video game?
*Game Over*

Re: New ZX Spectrum to be released April

The Vega Plus is in the news - and in a Coleco Chameleon kind of way. The portable ZX Speccy raised almost $700,000 in 2016, and was supposed to have released in 2016. Well, its 2018, and its debated if there is even a prototype let alone actual production models, and Indiegogo is contracting debt c...
