Re: The Crew 2 game review

I enjoyed The Crew and look forward to the sequel. I also loved the Test Drive Unlimited series, which many of these developers previously had worked on. The big problem here isn't all the post release support in my opinion, it's that they continue to saddle the game with an always online requiremen...

Re: 2018/7/6: Playstation 2: Sprint Cars: Road To Knoxville

Ever been to a sprint car race? It's quite a spectacle if you never have. I bet you'd like World of Outlaws: Sprint Cars 2002 for the PS2. I believe I've mentioned it before, but it was a very good game from a normally PC only Australian developer that carved a niche out back in the late 90's and ea...

Re: I love Switch, but....

I'd actually like to see a consolized Switch with a Pro Controller be offered. As a Wii U owner, I find the Switch lineup pretty disappointing so far. So much of the best offerings are games I've already played. I don't know what Nintendo is even thinking here. Wasn't the entire point of this hybrid...

Re: NES Classic Impressions

I suppose we'll soon learn one way or another if there's a future for this new product line, at least where Fall 2018 is concerned. Nintendo announced the NES Classic Edition on July 14th 2016 and the SNES Classic Edition on June 26th of last year. So we're certainly in that time frame to be hearing...

Re: 2018/6/29: Genesis: Calibur 50, Pitfall: The Mayan Adventure

I believe that much like the 32X version of Pitfall, the Jaguar port runs at a very inconsistent 30 fps. Sega CD gets my vote with its cd soundtrack combined with all the positive attributes of the regular Genesis version like its smooth 60 fps, higher detailed backdrops than the SNES version, and m...

Re: NES Classic Impressions

Another Classic Controller benefit is that the home button, which is absent on actual NES/SNES Classic gamepads, is functional here. It allows you to access the dashboard without getting up and hitting the reset button on the NES Classic (Same holds true for last Fall's SNES Classic). There is one c...

Re: NES Classic Impressions

Yes, official Wii Classic Controllers and Wii Classic Controller Pro's work just fine. The many bootlegs out there though may be hit or miss. Super Nintendo Classic Edition controllers also work without issue as do the many 3rd party NES Classic/SNES Classic branded accessories. 3rd party Wii/Wii U ...

Re: NES Classic Impressions

The rerelease launched today, including a return of the very scarce standalone controllers that are priced at $9.99 (The NES Classic Edition only comes with one). No sign that any changes were made to the system or controller, including the 3' controller cord. I recommend two things for any newcomer...

Re: 2018/6/22: Wii: Indy 500 Legends

Nice review. I remember enjoying playing through the mission mode on this one. The guest reviewer might be interested to know that this saw a HD release later on the Xbox 360 as Indianapolis 500 Evolution, with a lot more circuits that are now sadly just memories like the long gone road course in Ri...

Nintendo/Hamster just released an emulated version of arcade Donkey Kong

Not a bad day for classic gaming fans on the Nintendo Switch. And as with the rest of Hamster's Arcade Archives program though, it's a digital exclusive.
