Re: Midway Arcade Origins

Looks like the last gen versions and the Wii U SKU will be $19.99 at GameStop on Black Friday. The PS4/XB1 versions are $10 more. Doubt this ever gets any cheaper new. Hopefully the Midway and Portal level packs can be had cheaply to get all the games that I want (The Midway pack has most of the gam...

Re: Atari Max cartridges?

One is under development. http://atariage.com/forums/topic/254003-upcoming-jaguar-sd-cartridge/page-1 I haven't been following closely, but last I saw months ago, it's even going to support the playing of Jaguar CD images without an expensive and fragile Jaguar CD attached to the console (Thanks to ...

Re: Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening (Game Boy)

Great game. I almost never 100% a game by doing every last thing I could possibly do, but I happily did for A Link Between Worlds and was sad to finish it after 30 hours. A Link Between Worlds actually was the first Zelda I achieved 100% completion on despite having enjoyed the series for decades. I...

Re: Random finds at used game store

Escape From Monkey Island is a great PC conversion on the PS2. That was still somewhat a rarity back then, with many PC to PS2 ports ending up pretty watered down.

I have a feeling you'll enjoy that one.

Re: Midway Arcade Origins

I've been meaning to post my impressions of this gem. Last week Best Buy had Dimensions down to $48 using the Gamer's Pass. With that I picked up Dimensions, Midway, Scooby Doo and the Simpsons. I didn't really know what to expect. Down to $30 now at Wal-Mart, thanks to the recently announced disco...

Re: Gran Turismo Sport OUTRAGE!

There's a place for always online games, as long as they're online multiplayer only. World of Warships for instance holds no value once it's offline, since the entire game is centered around playing others. It's no loss that it can't be utilized when the servers are closed down, since the game cease...

Re: Retro Freak Review

From what I've heard, the original firmware is never actually erased. So even if you were to unplug your system when it was updating or midway being reprogramming the FPGA to simulate another system, it will still be able to be returned to its original state. I believe this is why Analogue has the c...

Re: Xbox One backwards compatiility

Launches tomorrow. Here's some comparison videos that MS has posted. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P1kDabyaw5k https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CaDe1nVY_6g Black is also on the launch list, which is one I was hoping to see be included. I bet it looks spectacular. And Sony's PS2 on PS4 list might gi...

Re: Retro Freak Review

I'm surprised you had never heard of micro SD cards before this. For devices I've bought and used in the last several years, it seems to be the format that dominates. For example, that's what the New 3DS and Switch both use. I'm glad that the update process when smooth enough for you beyond being a ...

Re: Xbox One backwards compatiility

A known Microsoft leaker posted this to Twitter today. People are assuming that these are the launch titles for original Xbox backwards compatibility. https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DMqamKZUQAIaiOX.jpg Not a great list, but I own six of them and possibly might acquire a 7th one of these days. Nothing h...
