Re: Legend of Zelda - A Link to the Past

Growing up, I virtually never got new videogames outside of Christmas. But one summer vacation when I 14 or so, I was allowed to pick a game out at the store one day that wasn't more than maybe $30, and it was this one. I had thought the screenshot looked great in the poster showing off much of Nint...

Re: Atari Flashback 8

The AtGames rep at AtariAge says that it won't work.

Re: Atari Flashback 8

I don't think the Flashback 8 supports the Indy 500 controllers for Race/Indy 500. It's been modified to work with joystick inputs, but hopefully I'm wrong and it's like the paddle games.

Re: Atari Flashbac

He's talking about last fall's Atari Flashback 8 standard edition. https://i.pinimg.com/originals/13/39/2f/13392fa6871fc62cc9c6cdd4a4e0f7a4.jpg It's identical to an Atari Flashback 7, minus some minor game lineup changes which includes the addition of a handful of Activision titles, and the return o...

Re: Atari Flashbac

Judging by the wired joysticks, it sounds like you went with the standard definition model using the old AtGames hardware. They also offered slightly more expensive Gold models last year that run on their next-gen hardware base, support high-definition video output via HDMI, and utilize Bluetooth-li...

Re: SNES Classic Announced

Ralphnet, a reputable maker of controller converters, now offers a Classic Controller to GameCube adapter. http://www.raphnet-tech.com/products/snes_to_wii/index.php Looks like a perfect match for a Game Boy Player fan that wants to use their NES and SNES Classic Controllers with their GBP. Also loo...

Re: 2018/1/17: Atari 5200: Pengo

The track-ball mention made me think of something. Have you ever tried the track-ball with Realsports Tennis? It supports it according to the box, but I've never given it a try. It might transform what's otherwise a pretty poor 5200 game with the stock controller. Doesn't save it I'm afraid, it jus...

Re: Nascar?

I can't attest to how it is in NASCAR's ancestral home in the American southeast and such, but I've been to many NASCAR Cup races at all the tracks on the circuit in the Northeastern US and have seen very few drunk rednecks. The crowd at Watkins Glen International in the Finger Lakes region is espec...

Re: Sega Dreamcast/Sega Naomi emulation incoming for the Nintendo Switch!

Digital Foundry isn't hacking their Switch, ripping games, and then tearing into the source code. There will be easier ways to make a likely determination. Strikers 1945 on the Switch for instance has, knowing that the system is only ever going to be used on 16:9 displays, decluttered the game scree...

Re: Sega Dreamcast/Sega Naomi emulation incoming for the Nintendo Switch!

I doubt it's emulation. Psikyo has a pretty small library of games that run on this hardware. With the complexity of Dreamcast emulation and the small selection of titles that could take advantage of that investment, it's unlikely to be the most economical choice. The economies of scale just aren't ...
