Re: 2017/11/12: Playstation 4: Undertale

FYI for anyone interested...Fan Gamer has a pre-order up for more copies of the physical collector's edition if you're interested. They say it will ship in December. If anyone is on the fence, I own the collector's edition and it's one of the most evocative and beautiful editions of a game I've ever...

Re: Super Mario Odyssey

Super Mario Odyssey is totally legit. If all you care about is fun, tight gameplay, a sense of wonder, and satisfying level design...yeah believe all the hype. If you're a person who needs story, realistic graphics, voice acting, and things of that nature...this won't really register on the "wo...

Thanks for putting this on my radar Dave. I'm always on the lookout for something new to play around Halloween and this looks perfect.

Re: Haunting: Starring Polterguy (Genesis)

I can very much see why people would nonplussed by Haunting. Gameplay wise there isn't a hell of a lot going on. It the videogame equivalent to a one trick pony. If you don't think Haunting's particular trick is all that enticing, then a player would get bored rather quickly. I think it's the perfec...

Haunting: Starring Polterguy (Genesis)

Since it's October I've only been playing Halloween appropriate games. I recently went back and re-visited a cult-classic Genesis game from the 90s, Haunting: Starring Polterguy . What a weird-ass game! It really wasn't that long ago when EA was responsible for some of the more wild games in the ind...

Re: Halloween Games?

So I started thinking about handheld horror games (hey sometimes you need your horror fix on the go). What are some of your favorite horror games on portable systems? I wrote a list of five suggestions over at The Wolfman's Lounge . Feel free to check them out! https://wolfmanslounge.com/2017/10/19/...

Re: 2017/10/16: Genesis: Cyberball, Decap Attack

I'm sure there are a lot more, and one that comes to mind is Kid Chameleon. I LOVE Kid Chameleon. It's one of my favorite platformers from the 16-bit era. It's SO UNBELIEVABLY 90s and that just adds to its bizarre charm. The gimmick of collecting different helmets for new abilities and power-ups wa...

Re: Simpson's Treehouse of Horror

I'd pick up a Blu Ray set that had every Treehouse of Horror in a heartbeat! Some of the most creative things ever done on the show were showcased in the early ToH episodes. I would say that it's a huge missed opportunity for Fox to not release this during the Halloween Season.

Re: 2017/10/16: Genesis: Cyberball, Decap Attack

Decap Attack is such a fun little game. It's totally indicative of what makes the Genesis worth collecting for. The game has an absurd premise and weird aesthetic backed up by solid gameplay. I cherish all of these bizarre little games on the Genesis...you certainly don't get games like this anymore...

Re: The Horror Movie Lovers Thread

Great write-ups. Agree that the original Halloween is the pinnacle of horror films. Like one of the comments, I like that Season Of The Witch on there. Still an entertaining movie. My pick for underrated horror movie is Jason Goes To Hell. Even though it isn't really a Friday the 13th movie and Jas...
