OK, but I don't follow what this has to do with my thread, which is about completing the library of reviews -- i.e. reviewing every game -- for specific systems like the Atari 5200 and Sega 32X.

Re: 2018/1/14: Genesis: Aero the Acro-Bat, Aero the Acro-Bat 2

It's not uncommon for platformers that are on both the Genesis and SNES to be more zoomed-in on the SNES. The resolution commonly used on the SNES has somewhat wider pixels than on the Genesis -- I think it's 256x224 vs. 320x224, if memory serves. If the designers didn't compensate for that differen...

Re: Games the VGC Didn't Review (Yet), for Systems Nearing Completion

Somehow I quoted my entire first post when I meant to edit it: whoops!

Instead I'll edit this post to note that Pengo for Atari 5200 is now done: getting close to completing the 5200 review set.

Re: Review Wish List

It would be cool to have the "holy grail" cartridge games for the Intellivision reviewed someday - Spiker and Stadium Mud Buggies. And maybe that awful Super Pro Decathlon game too [...] Even though Beamrider has been reviewed for other systems my particular favorite version is the Intell...

Re: Winter Games!

Normally I can find a query Google to answer any specific video game questions, but if the results are any indication, nobody has ever finished the first stage of Steel Harbinger. I have! And this guy did too: https://youtu.be/cmaZfKRsvtw?t=9m11s I make no assurances as to the quality of the video ...

Re: Worst Video Game Enemies?

Any enemy that harasses you endlessly and can't be killed is definitely on my list. I remember getting incredibly frustrated by these pseudo-Polynesian women with shields in Crash Bandicoot, who would always push you off ledges at the worst possible times: an enraging enemy in an often-enraging game.

Re: Winter Games!

Another winter game I needed to review was Pengo for the Atari 5200. I think the reason I had never reviewed it before was because it doesn't work on my old 5200 multicart. I checked Ebay for the real cart and was surprised that you can still get a new copy (in the box) for fairly cheap (about $30)...

Re: 2018/1/5: Intellivision: Skiing, Mountain Madness: Super Pro Skiing

Great (and seasonally-appropriate) reviews! I'm always pleased to see a new review for the Intellivision, and am glad you liked Mountain Madness -- it really is like a Cadillac version of regular Skiing. Sometimes the Super Pro thing didn't work out as well for INTV (Slap Shot comes to mind), but th...

Re: 2018/1/7: Atari 2600: Ski Hunt (Europe), Ski Run (Europe)

Awesome! I've played these both -- not for hours on end, but for a little while each -- and think your reviews are spot-on. I don't know whether they're rare enough to get the icon; PAL Atari 2600 games are notoriously slippery when it comes to rarity since so many of them were re-released and bootl...

Re: Winter Games!

And for Ski Run, here's a translation of the back of the box (which, again, may be the closest thing to a manual) of the German release "Abfahrtslauf" (Downhill Race): http://www.atarimania.com/game-abfahrtslauf_s13747.html Downhill Race John is a participant in an interesting ski run. He ...
