Re: Systems You Have Sold Off

I've never sold anything off, though my parents gave our Atari 5200 collection to a family friend. I'm no more troubled by having games I haven't yet played than I am by having books I haven't gotten around to reading, or DVDs I haven't watched yet. As a Harlan Ellison character one wisely said, &qu...

Re: The worst games you have played on each system

For many consoles, I think the real answer is likely to be buried in the sports library. In my case I'm into tennis games, so a lot of those will be my chosen examples -- and boy, are there some bad ones out there. Odyssey² : Hockey/Soccer, easily. i don't lightly use the word "unplayable"...

Re: MICROVISION (1979) - World’s First Handheld System - Review of System and All 12 Games

Funny that this (very good) thread comes along just as Microvision screen replacement efforts have suddenly gathered steam: http://atariage.com/forums/topic/275386-microvision-replacement-screen-project-pre-order-purchase-here/ Thanks to random good luck, I own two Microvisions and a complete set of...

Re: Dragster record being questioned

Can Centipede even store a score that high? From what I can tell, two bytes would be enough for 58k, but 65 million would require 3-4 bytes. No idea, but it seems the whole thing is moot. :) My only point was that it's easy for me to imagine someone mixing up 65k and 65m in a record-keeping glitch,...

Koei games: now you too can pretend to be an Asian bookkeeper! Punch-Out: beat up ethnic stereotypes -- and a few Americans -- by taking advantage of the crippling OCD that forces them to do the same moves over and over again. OK, but I don't follow what this has to do with my thread, which is about completing the library of reviews -- i.e. reviewing every game -- for specific systems like the Atari 5200 and Sega 32X.

Re: 2018/1/14: Genesis: Aero the Acro-Bat, Aero the Acro-Bat 2

It's not uncommon for platformers that are on both the Genesis and SNES to be more zoomed-in on the SNES. The resolution commonly used on the SNES has somewhat wider pixels than on the Genesis -- I think it's 256x224 vs. 320x224, if memory serves. If the designers didn't compensate for that differen...

Somehow I quoted my entire first post when I meant to edit it: whoops!

Instead I'll edit this post to note that Pengo for Atari 5200 is now done: getting close to completing the 5200 review set.

Re: Review Wish List

It would be cool to have the "holy grail" cartridge games for the Intellivision reviewed someday - Spiker and Stadium Mud Buggies. And maybe that awful Super Pro Decathlon game too [...] Even though Beamrider has been reviewed for other systems my particular favorite version is the Intell...

Re: Winter Games!

Normally I can find a query Google to answer any specific video game questions, but if the results are any indication, nobody has ever finished the first stage of Steel Harbinger. I have! And this guy did too: https://youtu.be/cmaZfKRsvtw?t=9m11s I make no assurances as to the quality of the video ...
