Re: Super Mario 64 (Nintendo 64)

Well, I'll reiterate it's a great game, that's true. But, Bom Bom Battlefield is a great level. I think that it's quality is the reason it was the first level. I'd go with an A-

Re: Super Mario 64 (Nintendo 64)

I wouldn't be so high on SM64's levels. Nothing really stuck out. The first level Bom Bom Battlfield was the best. And that was just a technological show off. It's a great game, not an A+ and could have had some more bang for your buck.

Re: Super Mario 64 (Nintendo 64)

Mario 64 is better. It's still a big time system seller in retrospect. Nothing wrong with the game. But it could have been better definitely not A+ material but up there.

Re: Super Mario 64 (Nintendo 64)

I think looking back a lot of the reason I loved SM64 when it came out was that it was a really good game and it seemed at that time that there were going to be a lot of mindblowing N64 games to come. Let me just say, that DID NOT happen. And I haven't used caps in years.

Re: Super Mario 64 (Nintendo 64)

The first time I ran through it in the 1990's it was amazing, one of those games you didn't want to go to sleep. While it's still good, I think the problem is that it doesn't have any go to levels. I'm talking about levels that blow your mind. Nothing really sticks out. A game like Banjo Kazooie I c...

Re: Underrated And Overlooked Albums

I love the Hum recommendation Logan. And wow, a grindcore record. That just brings a smile to my face. I love the surprises I get on these forums. Ok I can't help it, since we're talking grindcore I'll recommend to whoever can handle it, Lockup's 2 amazing albums "Pleasures Pave Sewers" an...

Re: Best and worst sports consoles

For some reason, the SNES is generally regarded as being an average or even slightly above average console for sports games. It's library is viewed as not as good as the Genesis but certainly capable. To me that's not true. Every single sports game I played on the SNES was a stinker besides NBA Jam ...

Re: Best and worst sports consoles

The Genesis has to be the all time best for this genre. For me the SNES led to Nintendo being a terrible option for sports games. Every system they've put out since (including the SNES of course) has been well below average for sports games.

Re: Underrated And Overlooked Albums

I'll go with Warrant's "Dog Eat Dog". Released in 1992, it got overlooked (yet still went gold) because obviously everyone was infatuated with everything grunge at that point. In retrospect, it's a shame that hair metal had to go away so quickly. While I like grunge, there certainly aren't...

Re: What is your Holy Grail?

Mine would be to have complete with manual USA AES Metal Slug series. Throw in Japan AES Pulstar.
