Early to Mid 1995

I keep thinking about this time. I haven't really kept any of my old magazines but when I look at old Gamepro magazines on the internet it gets me so excited. In fact, I always remembered SWAT Pro which also had cool stuff. I loved all the uncertainty. It was so exciting to talk about the Ultra 64 w...

Re: 2018/2/18: Playstation: Final Fantasy VII, Final Fantasy VIII

Well, since we're dissecting Ptdebate's review, I figured I'd chime in. The claim at the end of the review that the polygons may not compare to modern titles came out of nowhere. At least there should have been something leading up to that comment alluding to any possible drawbacks the game has. The...

Re: VGC Members Awards

Herschie is probably the best poster here. By the way, I didn't see the word "sports" mentioned at all. I'd like to think there's at last some people preventing talk from being all about RPG's. While we're on that topic, I nominate Ptdebate for most passionate PS1 RPG fan.

Re: Retro Gamer Magazine

I miss reading through video game magazines. I used to love to go to Barnes and Noble to do that. Also, I loved going to Best Buy to check out the pictures and text on the back of the game. 1994 is the goat time for this.

Re: Retro Gamer Magazine

The best time ever was 1995 right before the PS1 came out, because there was a sense of anything's possible. And video game fans were promised the moon at the time.

Re: Missing Jaguar Games

How about, the Jag is the only system from the 5th who's graphics I feel has aged the best. Now I don't have to take on legions of PS1 fans who were drawing in their notebooks in gym class.

Re: Missing Jaguar Games

Native has my favorite 2d graphics of all time. Maybe not the best but my favorite. The Jaguar is the only system from the 5th gen that's graphics don't look totally obsolete. I'm not talking about the quality of the games, but the graphics in games like Hover Strike and I-War, and Iron Soldier. Eve...

Re: Missing Jaguar Games

If I recall correctly (and trust me I'm not your historian) you weren't even around in the mid 90's. I didn't grow up on Mario 64, you did.

Re: Missing Jaguar Games

My holy grail of what if is Native: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OzKR7pFPb8c

This game has hands down by far the best 2d graphics I've ever seen. It's not even close. The wow factor is off the charts.

Re: Missing Jaguar Games

The Jag was going to get MK3 and a lot of other games when it got discontinued. I think NBA Jam was one of the last ones and somehow got approved even though things weren't looking too good for The Jaguar at that point. One game that wasn't released when the Jag was around but was shortly after is Z...
