Re: New Stuff on Atari Age

I'm holding on to faint hope that Zero-5 is a great game. But sadly even less that Phase Zero is (or even playable). And I'm not spending my retirement fund on either. Oh gosh if they just had one more cycle of games.

Re: Retro Gaming Art

That VC 2 ad from early '97 is interesting bc that's around the time that I call the end of the golden age of video games. While in another thread I said 1994 was the greatest year ever for video games. I don't know if the response was that positive. But it was. And even though things were going dow...

Re: Baseball in Decline?

A huge problem that the VGC mentioned is pitchers don't last long enough. The manager wusses out and shelves the starter after 100 pitches. I think last night a guy with a no hitter was pulled after 6 innings because of a high pitch count. Then there's all the relievers, most of which end up pitchin...

Re: Retro Gaming Art

Either I'm right or I'm becoming nostalgic about the early 2000's, but it seems that even video game mags from then looked cool compared to now. It still didn't come close to what it was in the mid 90's. It wasn't until boy I can't pinpoint an exact time, but around the time Halo got really popular,...

Re: VGC Pro Nintendo?

I'd say for someone to be Pro Nintendo they'd have to at the very least love the SNES and have a "soft spot" for the N64. Those are on the fringe. On the green you have A) SNES is better than the Genesis and B) SNES is the greatest system of all time. I mean, it looks like Nintendo has fun...

Re: Confess Your Unpopular Video Game Opinions

It might not be that unpopular of an opinion, but I think Super Mario World is the best game of all time. And ditto on Donkey Kong Country.

Re: Bacon vs Buffalo Wi

Buffalo Wings. But with extremely hot sauce with substance to it. For some reason I used to love bacon a lot more when I was a kid. Or maybe I just like it for breakfast.

Re: MLB: The show 18

What a great post. I've had my ups and downs with modern baseball (home runs are too easy, not enough triples), it reminds me that baseball is a fantastic sport. If the fences were pushed back to where they were before the 1940's (not that I remember, just a historian here) baseball would be by far ...

Re: Early to Mid 1995

RPG's lol. Leave it to certain members (just admit it, you guys are the majority) of this forum to turn a nostalgic pre PS1 thread into a one about RPG's on a system with GARBAGE graphics. By the way, the game you're talking about crossed over. My friend Rob liked FF7 and he was into sports and acti...

Re: Early to Mid 1995

The Model 2 was very popular and had great graphics. Another thing that made the time period interesting was the thought that Sega's new system would have all of the Model 2's kickass games. On another topic, Some PS1 games are better than others in the "art" department. Trust me, its stil...
