Re: Genesis Hard Drivin'

I think it deserves at least a B, they were pretty decent for the time (pre-FX chip) and still pretty fun. I enjoy the old flat shaded/wireframe polygon games more than an average person though. Keep in mind the Genesis (and Gameboy) had no GPU or coprocessor in those carts to handle the vector grap...

Re: Terrified of a Digital Future

Steam has mostly-won my trust here, since stuff I bought in 2005 is still in my account and I can still install it on pretty much any device, infinitely many times. I think I've tried some other services here and there, and I haven't been too happy with them. (Especially tying games to a particular ...

GPD WIN / GPD WIN 2

There's a brand of small handheld Intel Windows/Linux PC with a built-in controller called the GPD WIN, which has the size and form-factor of a 3DS. Mainly the first iteration was used for emulators. They're coming out with a new iteration in a few days (creatively called GPD WIN 2) that can suppose...

Re: my wild guess for new smash bros characters

I'm going to make a slightly more realistic guess than the FPS characters:

I think Wreck-It Ralph will make it in.

Doom (4) on Switch

This isn't bad. I got it on PC on a Steam sale but the constantly blowing laptop fan, extreme load times, and fact that I had to be persistently connected to the internet were deal-breakers. This version of Doom (4) *urges* you to connect to the internet for some absurdly large download, but if you ...

Re: Genesis Hard Drivin'

They actually had that ported to the GB, with a similar frame rate.

Re: my wild guess for new smash bros characters

I think the more likely guess for an MS character over Master Chief is the Minecraft Guy... that would probably be a better bet to attract more Nintendo type fans... the Doom marine is probably the most iconic of those three, and has a long history of appearing in Nintendo ports, and Half-Life is ba...

my wild guess for new smash bros characters

Around 4 years ago, I made a wild guess on this board that Ryu would appear in Smash 4. I'm going to make a new unlikely out there guess: one well-known third party Western FPS character will be featured-most likely the Doom Marine, Gordon Freeman, or, yes, Master Chief. Doom is already ported so th...

Playing video games in lieu of watching Star Wars prequels

After seeing The Phantom Menace, I never bothered to watch the other two Star Wars prequels. The first one made me physically ill. ( a friend of mine once said if he had any magical power, it would have been to enter the Phantom Menace film and decapitate Jarjar ISIS-style, then to receive a standin...

Tekken 7 on PC

I got this on Steam the other day, as someone who never played any Tekken before I was intrigued by the videos and relatively simple control scheme, lack of complex inputs.
