Re: Mario Tennis Aces

Is there a “no gimmicks” mode for online play? *by the way, I’m also a gamer dad who plays in 20-30 minute bursts. Most platformers are good for this, as well as racers (like Mario Kart). Our primary console is a Wii, but I got a lot of use out of my 2DS for this reason alone—easier to play while ki...

Re: Atari VCS is a scam!

I remember watching the video and thinking it was weird that they spent sooo much time talking about the design of the console asthetics itself, rather than games and features. Like I said, if they added an ability to play online multiplayer to the classic Atari games, that would be worth trying. Ot...

Re: Compulsive video gaming = mental health condition?

Yeah, before “playing with friends” meant playing in the same room with your buddies, which you can’t do 24 hours/day. Now, with online gaming, there is someone available to play with 24 hours/day. But, I feel that these are 1/10th as satisfying as the in room experience. I think it’s a problem if i...

Re: Jurassic World

Eh, my favorite type of people—those that aren’t glad to share knowledge, but instead are annoyed that you don’t already know it. Just joking...kind of. I got my Sherlock Holmes collection last year, and had very little hopes of enjoying it. But I’m halfway through, and it’s one of my favorite liter...

Re: Jurassic World

For better or worse I'll. Always compare the first two to they're respective books. After getting the original book at my school book fair in the 6th grade and falling in love with it I was incredibly excited seeing it was being made into a movie. My grandparents took me to the see it and I remembe...

Re: Jurassic World

Yep, love JP and it’s amazing how well the original has aged. I would say Part 2 was awful. It loses a star just on that horrendous gymnastics routine scene. Part 3 was okay. I enjoyed it. That birdcage moment was great. I thought World 1 was the best since the original. Pratt was a good choice I th...

Re: Maybe it’s time to move on from E3?

I never watch these things, but I did watch some that were being co-streamed by my favorite streamer. He had a bingo card for each one that included all the cliches and expected cringe moments. And of course, E3 delivered plenty of that. I really can’t believe how cheesy these things are. Anyway, in...

Re: Super Smash Bros Ultimate On Nintendo Switch (Spoilers!)

I enjoy smash very casually (haven’t played since Melee), but it has a VERY active competitive tournament community. Like, it’s crazy. Nintendo seems to recognized this and made some gameplay changes that most fans are pleased with, and of course, they are going bonkers over all this content. Person...

Re: Favorite boss fights?

I really like the Mother Brain fight in Super Metroid, mostly because of the twist, which was revolutionary at the time.

The Yoshi islands bosses were really creative, which was nice since the Mario games Have a history of repetitive boss fights.

Re: AtariBox Meets its Goal

I’d be down with it only if they could incorporate online multiplayer with the old games. Example: Warlords (2600) online tournaments, Kaboom versus matches, Pitfall races, etc.

Just some examples to freshen up the old games for a modern era. Tons of fun ideas.
