Re: Baseball in Decline?

I've wondered for the last year or so if a pro-flag football league would have a audience, or if it would just be made fun of. (Not a sports fan. Only watch the SuperBowl for commercials. Skipped even that this year. Interesting discussion tho.) I’d guess the latter. Football is too much of a “man”...

Re: Xbox One backwards compatiility

Never owned an original Xbox, but grew up with a Saturn and loved Panzer Dragoon 1 and 2. Panzer Dragoon Orta is really awesome. Seems to be a worthy sequel, and definitely better than the spiritual successor Crimson Dragon tha launched with Xbox One. Only thing I don’t like is the weird, 15:9 aspec...

Re: Baseball in Decline?

Stalvern - Fair enough. We may have to agree to disagree here, but a few more points. I would argue that those arbitrary rules kinda make the sport what it is. Change enough of them and it may not be the same sport anymore. If tackling was banned entirely would it really not change anything? After a...

Re: Baseball in Decline?

Besides being factually wrong (67.7% of concussions are from helmet-to-helmet impacts), this is disingenuous. I could give you the exact same BS - you don't like the helmet rule, so you also want to get rid of helmets themselves, and why not just get it all out of the way and lobotomize players fro...

Re: Baseball in Decline?

The alternative to the helmet rule is pervasive and well-documented brain damage. This rule is long overdue. The suffering of thousands is not an acceptable price for anything, let alone entertainment. That rule isn’t going to do much to eliminate concussions or just the general impacts during the ...

Re: Working out while playing games?

I’ve thought about using my switch when I’m on my exercise bike but can’t bring myself to do it. I’m anal as hell about the cleanliness of my electronics and the thought of my sweaty hands all over the joycons grosses me out. So instead I just stick with the iPad.

Re: NES Classic Impressions

Not to scare you, but my first impressions reading your post made me think it might be a knockoff. I don’t own one but from reading impressions and looking at videos it looks every bit as snappy as the SNES Classic. I also remember reading about all the clones being sold because it was such a hot it...

Re: Best Games for a Snow Day?

I don’t know if you’ve warmed to RPGs much, but “I Am Setsuna” on Switch/PS4 takes place almost exclusively in snow/wintery areas. I’ve not played much, but it’s very much a traditional, somber feeling JRPG.

Re: The Sad State of Future Retro Gaming (and Managing Storage on New Consoles)

This is why I only purchase games on physical media that operate offline. I don't do patches. If a game can't function without them it's not worthy of my time. I think this is kinda funny. You’ll deny yourself the experience of playing games optimally (or at all) now, because of a hypothetical situ...
