Re: Book Review: Commodore 64: A Visual Compendium

As the owner of 50+game systems, I've always avoided crossing into the computer side of gaming, simply due to the fact that I have too much to play already. However, I may have a look at the book and learn what the Commodore is all about. Thanks for the review.

Re: Factual error thread

This thread is a good idea. The Colony Wars review has some issues. It says James Earl Jones narrates the game, but he does not. Also, it says it takes 20 hits to destroy an enemy. Not if you know how to use the two types of weapons. One destroys the enemy's shield, and the other destroys the ships....

Re: Nintendo Wii U games not in production already?

It's probably a matter of shelf space. The WiiU sections in most major retailers are small, so they have to be careful to pick and choose what games to continue selling. I remember entire aisles of NES games. Those days are gone.

Re: 2015/6/4: Wii U: Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate

I always try to finish the games I start since I have already spent the money to play them. Also, some of the modern games today don't start getting good until several hours into them. The only thing that tends to stop me is a game that is extremely difficult, like Rayman 1.

Re: Nintendo NX - What Are Your Thoughts?

It would be awesome if it rolled out soon and had better graphical capabilities than the PS4. This would attract third party developers.

Re: Where are all the games?

Amazon and Ebay have taken business away from brick and mortar. I can't remember the last time I bought a new game from a store.

Re: My daughter and I have gotten into Star Trek

I'm a Trekkie. I suggest watching the original series on Blu-ray because they have been painstakingly remastered in high def, something that MeTV won't be able to display. The series is pretty solid from the original series all the way through Deep Space Nine.

Re: Yooka-Laylee - A 3D Platformer Rare-vival!

So skilled programmers can go rogue and put this much effort into 3d platforming type game that's been pounded into the ground for years, and ask for our hard earned money nonetheless, but no one can do anything advanced with 2d since it basically got shelved in the mid 90s? Way to go guys. I disag...

Re: What ever happened to arcade games?

Arcade style games are still being made and are available as cheap downloads. Even the Ouya is full of them. I remember seeing a lot in the 3DS e-shop as well. Only a few become high profile games; Resogun is a prime example. You just have to go searching for them in the download shops; they have ze...

Re: What if Atari's Pac-Man was better?

Honestly, do any of you older folks (like me) actually remember a time when you couldn't find new and interesting games at your local stores around 1983?  I just feel like this whole crash thing has been conflated and exaggerated over the years, and in reality had little bearing on those of us ac...
