Super Mario 3D World (finished)

Beating that level with no items is impressive.  I finished it with all five characters, by myself, but I used the tanooki suit each time.  I'm not sure I could do it otherwise, except maybe with Peach.

Super Mario 3D World (finished)

I actually did end up finishing the entire game with all five characters.  It took me 71 hours, and I'm guessing about half of those were spent on Champion's Road and the final "marathon" level with 30 stars to be collected.

2014/5/25: Playstation 4: MLB 14 The Show

Chrisbid already said it, basically, but the World Series determines the winner of a competition that involves the world's best players in one sport.  Braggadocio is the reason it's called that, but over time, the name has become more appropriate than ever.  The U.S. can't help it that all...

Super Mario 3D World (finished)

I just wanted to report that after 34 hours of play, I finally finished every level of Super Mario 3D World.  I'm not a hardcore gamer, but I'm pretty sure Champion's Road is the most-difficult level I've ever completed, at least since my NES days in high school.  I'm guessing I lost upwar...

I wonder how Quentin Tarantino movies got the reputation for being extremely gory?  Apart from "Kill Bill," they're actually pretty restrained compared to modern action or horror movies.

Details make the difference

I love how the enemies and even the flowers and shrubs dance along to the music in the New Super Mario games.

Sega's R-360

Has anyone else ever played this arcade game?  I believe it was just G-LOC, but the cabinet consisted of a sphere inside a gyroscope so you could turn in any direction, including upside down.  By far the most thrilling video game I've ever played.  I don't know how reliable it is, but...

New Virtual Reality Headsets?

When I was in high school in the early 1990s, one of the local malls had an entire arcade devoted to virtual reality.  There were two games:  a tank one (sitting down) and an exploration one (standing up inside a ring).  I played the latter one, and if I recall correctly, I spent most...

The "compliment" in the new Arkham Asylum review should be "complement."  Thanks.

2014/3/4: Commodore 64: Elite, Winter Games

There's a reason curling isn't in Winter Games... because it wasn't an Olympic sport until 1998!
