Re: 2015/9/9: Playstation 4: Batman: Arkham Knight

That is modern gaming in a nutshell. Make games that are just acceptable enough to the masses on first release, and focus on DLC to push the actual price of the full game well over $100. This is so true. In theory, patches should be a good thing. And DLC$, when used for additional, but not necessar...

Same here. The Genesis is played multiple times a week. My 360 and PS3 (no next-gen in my household, yet) combined aren't played more than a couple times a month.

Re: eBooks and video games

While I think physical copies may become a much, much smaller portion of total sales, I don't think they'll fully dissappear, at least not in my lifetime (I'm 36). I look at the music industry...2014 was the first year that digital sales caught physical media. iTunes had been around for, what 10 yea...

Re: In defense of 'bad' disparaged games

One bad game that I liked when it came out and still like to this day is Shadows of the Empire for n64. For me it really felt like the first Star Wars game that had a story and characters that stood on their own and didn't rely on the films. Is this game widely viewed as poor? I played the heck out...

Re: 2015/8/16: Playstation 4: The Golf Club

This title is on my short-list of games to get when I get my PS4 in the next month or so. I used to have a Jack Nicklaus golf game on PC many many moons ago that had a course editor function - I'm looking forward to playing around with that.

Thanks for the review!

I hear you. I have the same ambition, and the same limiting factors. I keep telling myself, "Maybe in a few years." Well, we'll see, but I'll keep hoping.

What's your "Favorite" game? Ever.

A simple question, but is the answer simple? My buddy and I were discussing this the other night. Here are the ground rules: 1) "Favorite" doesn't mean "best" - not best story, graphics, gameplay, whatever. It could be a game you like because of any/all of those things, but it si...

Re: Classic vs Modern Gaming: Where's the line?

I look at gaming in 3 groups. I think everything released from ps1 to the original xbox as classic. Everything before that is retro. Everything after the original xbox is modern. I just can't group original xbox with atari that just doesn't sit right with me. This is a good point as well. Lumping e...
