Am I the only one who thinks that the Neo/Scorpio is a terrible idea?

It just seems to me that Sony and MS are pulling a Sega and competing with themselves by flooding the market with unnecessary hardware. Who is the Neo/Scorpio designed for? The people who already bought the XBO/PS4? Those who want the latest tech, most of whom would likely opt for a top-of-the-line ...

Re: Miniature NES with 30 built-in games

It's definitely cool, but after reading up on it, I'll definitely pass. The selection is good, though there are few games on the list that I don't already own on VC (for Wii, Wii U, or 3DS). They have announced that there will be no VC (that doesn't surprise me), nor will there be any slot for futur...

I think that I figured out what the main "innovation" of the NX will be!

And I sincerely hope that I'm wrong. Why would Nintendo jump into the mobile space, which is basically them competing with themselves, unless they were testing the waters for something bigger? The successful launch of Pokemon Go, which I haven't played, made me think about that bigger picture; the r...

Question for anybody with a JXD S7800b

Does anybody who frequents this site have this? I read a lot of very favourable reviews, so I just bought one off of ebay. It looks like a pretty classy gaming tablet, and I'm looking at having my classic gaming collection without all of the clutter. I'm just looking for any personal experiences tha...

Re: Atari Flashbacks on the PS4/Xbox One

This looks awesome, and I will get it if it is true....but something bugs me about it. For a system as powerful as the PS4, why not produce the most comprehensive anthology of your work that you can? You could literally create a History of Atari series! Great, now I'm dreaming, but I could see it lo...

Re: Do Reviewers need to be Good at the game?

I don't think you need to be an expert, because chances are you are writing for a general audience. However, the reviewer should at least be proficient at the game. How else could they dig deep enough into the game to write a proper review? Says the guy who got to the bridge in Bloodborne and gave ...

Re: Genesis games selling well on Steam

Awesome! Now, they need to start building themselves as more than the company that created the Sega Genesis/Mega Drive and nothing else! Don't get me wrong, the Genesis is a great console, but I've never seen a company neglect so much of their legacy quite like Sega (I've ranted about this in the pa...

Re: Nathan Drake and the Bad Review

To be honest, I think the notion of professional reviews is basically worthless because, in my opinion, they miss the point of what reviews should be about. I'm a huge Roger Ebert fan, but he had a major hatred of slasher flicks (one of my favorite genres), and he would mercilessly tear each one apa...

Re: How does your wife/significant other/mom deal with your video games?

After I sold most of my collection, a few years back, I rebuilt a collection in digital form. I have a ton of retro downloads for my Wii, Wii U, PS3, PS Vita, and New 3DS. We live in a small apartment, so having these games is ideal because they take up invisible space rather than physical space.

Re: What do you want to see in the NX

Forgive my pessimistic predictions: I think that the NX will follow the same path that Nintendo has blazed for some time now: a "new" control scheme that will somewhat work for them but, once again, fail to attract/lure away third-party support, leading to the expected droughts while fans ...
