Re: SNES on 3DS: Not All That

I feel like I'm being a bad Boy Scout because I'm actually picking up a New 3DS just to have a SNES library on the go. However, there are a few questions I wish I could have answered before taking the plunge: 1). I understand that perfect emulation can be very tricky, but I'm having a tough time und...

Re: Dads/fathers: when do you find time to play?

Friday and Saturday nights, after the peanut has gone to bed. I have two choices: get a full night's sleep and MAYBE get an hour of playtime in the morning, or get less sleep and play for four hours at night. I'm currently playing Fallout 4, so you can guess who option I chose. *yawn

Re: What did you get for Christmas?

A 64GB memory card for my vita (talk about a godsend....a ridiculously overpriced godsend), $60 in PSN gift cards, a couple shirts, two big bottles of Bailey's, a limited edition of Paul McCartney's Flowers in the Dirt, and slippers. I've been so invested in Fallout 4, that all other forms of gaming...

Re: Bloodborne (PS4)

Unfortunately, I'm afraid that you're going to have to bring down the axe on this one because the hurting never stops. Just wait until (MAJOR SPOILERS AHEAD. DO NOT READ IF YOU DON'T WANT CRAP SPOILED FOR YOU): .................................... ......................... ............. ....... ... ...

Re: Bloodborne (PS4)

Oh, that's right! You have to fight the Cleric Beast first! Don't worry, you don't have to beat him to gain access to the Doll (she is who you talk to in the Hunter's Dream to channel blood echoes). I'm going to try to help you out a bit: *spoilers When you reach the climb the stairs to the bridge, ...

Re: Bloodborne (PS4)

Strategy goes a long way, especially when you're in those early parts of Central Yarnham. For example, when you reach that long stretch of road with all of the villagers, do NOT engage them all at once or they'll decimate you! Instead, lure a few, take them out, rinse and repeat. The birds are easy ...

Re: Lack of retro goodness on PSN/XBLA

Very true, but it's very surprising that, for example, Sony is pushing Sega for a PSN release of Shenmue, or getting rid of that absolutely ridiculous rental service in exchange for, say, a PS3 Classics line. Legacy Collection, while nice, doesn't interest me because MM has been done to death. What ...

Lack of retro goodness on PSN/XBLA

One of my favorite aspects of XBLA and PSN last generation was the abundance of retro releases. So many games that I hadn't experienced in years, such as Soul Caliber 1, TMNT: the Arcade Game, Simpsons, X-Men, and updates like Super Street Fighter 2 HD, Marvel Vs. Capcom, etc. Something seems very o...

Re: Bloodborne (PS4)

I'm at one of two final bosses, and I have to say that this game now ranks in my top twenty of all time. This game succeeded where so many have failed, when it comes to scaring the living crap out of me/putting me on edge. For much of the game, I felt like I was fighting for my life, but the sense o...

Re: Bloodborne (PS4)

This is, by far, my favorite game of this generation! The scenery, the enemies, the immense amount of satisfaction you get from beating a boss, the challenge, the tight controls, etc. Critic, stick with it. It's a brutally challenging game, but you'll catch yourself getting better! I'm nine bosses i...
