Electronic Games and Electronic Fun Magazines

I am posting this only because I am afraid it would get buried in the Megamania re-review posting....

I just recently discovered this site and wanted to share it with all of you. These two great video gaming magazines from the early 1980s.......I kept my original issues but was...

2013/8/28: Atari 2600: Mega Force, Megamania

I wanted to see the ad I was thinking about for myself but the several issues of Electronic Games and Electronic Fun magazines that I happily kept after all these years are boxed away and not easily accessible. Or I am just too lazy to get at them. So I tried using this internet thing...

Solar Fox for the 2600

Solar Fox has been getting some heavy play time this summer on my Atari 2600. I have had this one for years but have just truly discovered the gem that it is. I'm still not sure if I like the control mechanism - it does offer pin-point precision on my well-broke in Gemstick but I can'...

2013/8/28: Atari 2600: Mega Force, Megamania

This whole thread is great (the YouTube link was a riot!) The hype far exceeded the game itself. I have been trying to find the print ad that appeared in Electronic Games magazine back then with no luck. I recall it was a picture of some dude in sunglasses with his hair all messed ...

2013/7/10: Atari 5200: Tempest

Another excellent review. And I am glad Tempest managed to get into the A-plateau. It is a fantastic port of one of the most difficult coin-ops from my youth. The trackball makes its a pleasure to play.

I do disagree with the Critic's comment about it being difficu...

Tempest (Atari 5200)

The 5200 trackball does make this game a dream come true. Look forward to the review and any shortcomings that you may find with it. I love the game and how closely it feels like the original arcade - sans the spinner controller.

Wrestling Video Games

Bop 'N Wrestle was a lot of fun! My only complaint was in the 1 player mode when you defeated every wrestler and got to Lord Tuff....if you beat him for the championship belt there was no acknowledgement by the computer. No belt-raising graphic, no text that read "congratulations", nothi...

Atari 7800 Touchdown Football

I bought an Atari 7800 this past winter.

I'll start this by saying - I am really losing my patience with the Atari 7800 and think it is a piece of dung. So few games have stood out as being outstanding (Joust and Donkey Kong Jr. are the BEST ports.) But I'll address my disappointm...

Return of the Typo Thread!

In your Atari 7800 Donkey Kong review you have "conveyer" mispelled. It should be conveyor.

A decent port but the audio makes my ears bleed!

Most Fun System to Collect For?

[/QUOTE]
You do have some poor ones to start. Robotron is great, just use the controllers like thumb sticks, one to a hand. Pete Rose can be good, once you play enough of it to get used to the weird fielding, it is entirely possible to win and enjoy it. I have won one game...
