Re: Going to Tokyo -Suggestions?

Visit Akihabara, that's where you'll find the current and retro video game goodies. You can find some pretty neat things. Maybe bring an extra suitcase to bring stuff back that you buy.

Re: Games you like that everyone else hates?

I still love Wing Commander IV even though it is pretty much universally hated due to having too much FMV although I still think the quality of the acting and production values are heads and shoulders above other FMV games from that era. Mark Hamill, John Ryes-Davies, and Malcolm McDowell make for a...

Re: Should original Xbox review be updated to reflect its poor reliability?

Poor reliability relative to what? An optical disc-based console that is multiple generations removed? Are we comparing it to solid state, cartridge-based consoles? If you ask me, lasting until now, after running hours and hours on end through years and years, seems fairly respectable. To me, poor ...

Re: 2017/6/11: Sega Master System: Quartet, F-16 Fighting Falcon

F-16 Fighting Falcon is notable for being the one game specifically mentioned in the manual of the Power Base Converter as not being compatible with it. It is also a predecessor to the popular Falcon 3.0/4.0 series of games on the PC, having originally been released for the MSX before being ported t...

Re: Buying a New Laptop

I found a fantastic deal on a MacBook Air 13". The screen is nowhere near as nice as the other MacBooks but this is still a capable little machine. And the price is just insane for a new Mac. http://www.microcenter.com/single_product_results.aspx?sku=034629&utm_source=eNews%20Special%20Ed%...

Re: New HDMI Atari Flashback 8 Gold

If they really do have included paddle controllers with Super Breakout I'm in. I already like the HDMI output and the rewind feature. This and the new Genesis are going to be must buys.

Re: Yet again Square-Enix slaps Americans in the face when it comes to Secret of Mana

I might get shunned by our VGF community for saying this, but consumers don't *have* to lose. Emulate the games. If a game is released by the original company for virtual console or a physical release, BUY IT. Show the companies there is still money to be made on these old projects. But if they're ...

Sounds like its worth picking up for $32 after the BB gamer's club discount. I've never owned a Street Fighter game before but I think I'll get this one.

Re: Retron 5 Death Grip?

That's so weird, what is with these consoles having such a tight grip on the cartridges? Is it just poor craftsmanship, cutting corners?

Re: Buying a New Laptop

I actually have one of these at home and I love it! The fanless design is something truly marvelous. True, it's not as powerful as the Pro or Air models, but the screen is gorgeous and it performs every task well. Heroes of the Storm and other Blizzard titles run well at medium settings. I'm surpri...
