Re: 2015/12/6: Genesis: Dino Land, Fatal Labyrinth

I really enjoyed the game Dino Land on Genesis. It had two things going for it for me. One is it's on my favorite console and second is I love video pinball games. I mostly agree with the review though as the physics don't feel quite right. I'd maybe give it C+ rather than a C- though. One thing tha...

Re: Your Top 5 Pong Games

My favorite Pong based strictly on creative use of the technology is Basketball for the Odyssey 2. Most critic's pan this title because it's not the best basketball simulation but it's a very clever way of turning Pong into something resembling basketball. Take a look at it! While not impressive gra...

Re: PSX Road Rash 3/D

I've never played the PS1 version but it doesn't surprise me that it was good. I have it on 3DO and it kicks ass! I've also never owned the N64 version but from what I've read it was so bad it basically killed the franchise.

Re: Is there any knowledge of the Sega CD myth?

I can remember buying bleemcast for Gran Turismo 2 when it came out. I was very proud of playing GT2 in hi rez! Pretty lame in hindsight now that we can emulate all these games for free. From memory though it emulated GT2 pretty flawlessly. Just to bad it could only emulate 1 game per specialised co...

Re: Toxic Genesis Games to Avoid

Not sure why Fatal Rewind is getting so much hate? I picked it up a couple weeks ago and have been enjoying it. If It was one of 2 games per year I got as a child maybe not so much but it's definitely not a terrible game.

Naxat Crush Pinball series.

Most members of this forum are classic gamers and I am sure most have no doubt heard of the great Crush pinball series from Naxat. The most popular being Alien Crush and Devil's Crush for the TG-16. The Genesis was lucky enough to get a great port of Devil's Crush and Tengen even made a mediocre seq...

Re: Japanese Sega Genesis carts

My Chris informed me today that the Sega Genesis Classic Game Console by AtGames (see my review below) also plays Japanese carts. That's a pretty nifty feature. http://videogamecritic.com/extras/reviews/genclassic.htm We tried it with my copy of Bare Knuckle 3 (Japanese version of Streets of Rage 3...

Re: What game system's lack of sucess shocked you?

Dreamcast should have been one of the best selling consoles of all time. I bought it on release date 9/9/99 and it was literally a generation ahead of everything else available. To bad everyone bought the ps2 hype and waited a year for it to come out. Also I think the Sega Nomad should have sold bet...

Re: Twinkle Tale - Sega Genesis

I'm so happy that someone else knows this game! I'm also glad you have enjoyed it so much. I played it religiously about 2.5 years ago. It's excellent. I never got nearly as good as you; couldn't get close to the final boss but I enjoyed making steady progress. Twinkle Tale would definitely make my...
