Re: What was your first console?

Summer of 1981 my dad brought home the Mattel Intellivision. I was 4 and still remember loving the hell out of it. My girl friend at the time had 2600 and I had pac man. I don't remember hating that port then like I do today.

Re: Shmups vs Bullet Hell shooters.

I could never really get in to any of these games. There are very few that I actually like, and sometimes I question if my sentiment is clearly based on nostalgia. The early ones in the 80's and very early 90's were not bad. I enjoy 1942 & 1943. Xevious is another that is pretty fun. After that...

Re: 2012/1/11: Turbografx-16: Cadash

Funny you bumped this thread as I just best this on the Genny this week. Honestly I was a bit underwhelmed. I loved the graphic style but It came across overall way to shallow. Probably from having arcade roots. Also I played it solo and I'm sure 2 player would have been much more fun.

Re: Star Wars Battlefront Info?

I've watched some video of the gameplay. It's pretty buggy. I'm a huge Star Wars fan though and the graphics are amazing. I'll probably pick this up down the road when the price is cheaper.

Re: Sould Review Scores Be Revisted?

If a game is released broken or buggy and it's patched to the point that it turns into a wonderful game it would behoove the game maker to re-release the game as a GOTY edition or directors cut including any DLC. This way the game could be re-reviewed garnering the respect it may deserve. I bet game...

Shmups vs Bullet Hell shooters.

I recently beat my favorite shmup MUSHA and it was all I could handle as far as difficulty. I'm a huge Shump fan but I just can't get into bullet hell games. Maybe is my middle aged eyes and reflexes but I just get overwhelmed with games like Ikaruga. I've fallen in love with 16 bit Shmups and after...

Re: Longest game you've ever played?

The longest console game I've ever played was Dragon Warrior VII for PS1. The main story alone is 100+ hours. It's been a while since I played it but I remember having to play something like 20 hours just to get to the first battle (quite an exciting moment). It's such an epic journey and I really e...

Re: 2015/11/1: Sega CD: 3 Ninjas Kick Back, Flink

I have the Misadventures of Flink on Mega Drive and I believe the critic was a bit harsh with an F grade. I have to disagree with most of this review. I'll agree the entire spell concept is ridiculous and the controls are a bit odd at times. However once I was aquanted with them I had no trouble wit...

Re: Duke Nukem 3D official release for the Genesis

I bought Water Margin from Piko Interactive and I'm not very impressed with the quality. The pcb board is thick just like on my translated repros I bought off etsy. The clam shell case is cheap however the manual was nice. The cart they use is the cheap snap together variety with fake plastic screws...

Re: How do cartridges get so nasty?

I have been a cartridge gamer since I was a kid. I have always kept my games stored in a drawer or cabinet. I have never had any issues with cartridges getting so dirty the system can't read them. But ever since I started collecting older games off of ebay and amazon, it seems like every game needs...
