Re: Tiger Handhelds

I had a bunch of these as a kid and kinda liked them actually. The gameplay was extremely simplified and there wasn't a lot of depth but hey it was a way to kill time if I didn't have access to the TV(and my parents weren't gonna shell out for a Game Boy). I remember After Burner, a Sonic one, Doubl...

Re: Survival Horror: Scary or Frustrating?

I absolutely agree with you. I have always wondered what the critic sees in Resident Evil. I love the B-movie style presentation of the game and want to love it, but just can't. The controls are incredibly frustrating to deal with, making me walk into zombies and have difficulty getting through doo...

Re: Goldeneye (Nintendo 64)

I can't try her out right now because my N64 is stored at my parents house but it wasn't that long ago that I played it and still loved it. "The three clips to the face' is a bit jarring, but I kind of like it that way. I tend to conflate Perfect Dark and Goldeneye in my memory so maybe I do ha...

Re: Duke Nukem 3D official release for the Genesis

Quite impressive. I have Zero Tolerance for the Genesis but I think this actually looks quite a bit better.

Not too sure about it being Duke Nukem though. None of the levels looked recognizable to me.

Re: 3D platform jumping

I've always had trouble with 3D platformers. They just don't work great. Without depth perception there is no way you can really tell how far the next platform is(even tougher with super blurry textures *cough*N64*cough*. I'm curious to try one in actual 3D like the 3DS. Maybe I'll pick up one for t...

Re: 2015/9/17: Xbox One: Rare Replay

ptdebate, I was struck by this comment "you're simply not going to have a great time if you try to leave your consoles disconnected". At first I thought you were saying that the online element was somehow making these games fun. Then I read it again and interpreted it as "if you don'...

Re: All the way through?

So, I've been busy for the past couple of weeks. I haven't had time for video games or anything else, really. But I finally found some time to play today and I used that time to beat Shenmue on Dreamcast. I get what all the hype is about surrounding this series. That was an amazing, one of a kind g...

Re: Should Generations be Shorter?

Thats a silly comparison. Adding giant peripherals that are massive flops because they add little to the system itself is different than updating a processor or graphics card. But that is pretty much what a new graphics card would be. It would have the exact same effect of being inexpensive with ma...

Re: Fear of the Walking Dead

Budget is far too low given not just the ratings, but that these shows drive ratings on dirt cheap Talking Dead shows, hangers on loke Comic Book Mean, and make the channels brand. Darabont left the show he helped create when AMC slashed the budget, asking for twice the episode count at a 20% reduc...

Re: Should Generations be Shorter?

But we have seen upgrade-able systems. N64 - 4MB Ram cart, Saturn 4MB-Ram cart, Genesis CD/32X add on, TG-16 various cards. The reason we don't see them anymore is that it wasn't ever very successful. Console lifespans have been trending longer because technology doesn't offer the same kind "Bo...
