Re: Will gamer expectations and the cost of making games eventually kill the industry?

The movie industry is the perfect precedent really. We're pretty much already there. There will be cheap indie games with practically no production values whatsoever(like indie movies) and big giant explosive filled blockbusters that play it safe with gameplay you've already seen before and generic ...

Re: I really hate Windows updates

I just read an article that Cortana will apparently still send info to Microsoft even when disabled. http://thehackernews.com/2015/08/windows-10-privacy-spying.html I just can't see any compelling reason to upgrade with features like that, and especially couldn't recommend it to the original poster ...

Re: Does anyone else besides me see the PS3/Xbox 360/iOS/Android/3DS/PS Vita are holding back the PS4/Xbox One/Wii U/PC?

How could the PS Vita be holding them back? Isn't it officially dead already? :? But seriously, this is the argument that I constantly see from PC gamers. It's just graphics. Who cares if some new game only runs at 30 fps or is in 720p. My Genesis says "High Definition" right on the consol...

Re: In defense of 'bad' disparaged games

I totally get the play them until you can't because you know every pixel. Back then, I'd get a cartridge for Christmas or a birthday and that was it. One day, while milling around Toys R Us with my mother I got to pick out a game. Without being able to do any research all I had was the box art to de...

Re: eBooks and video games

It may have leveled off for now but the ebook will still probably kill off the book. It's just taking a breather. I suspect it just that so many young people have switched over to ebooks that its already saturated that market and the old fogeys just haven't died off yet. In thirty years, it'll be al...

Re: I really hate Windows updates

I do not recommend Windows 10. Just way to many privacy concerns with Microsoft now wanting to collect all kinds of personal data(just like Google already does :x ) , but also Windows 10 is the first Windows where you can not refuse updates. In windows 8 you can actually set it to only download and ...

Re: Most Emo Characters from Video Games/other media!

I'm not sure about actually being emo in character, but I am playing through Resident Evil 4 and I can't help but think what is up with Leon's hair? He can't even see out of both eyes. It definitely looks silly for someone with police/special ops background. You're gonna save the presidents daughter...

Re: What's your "Favorite" game? Ever.

Single player: This is really tough, and has definitely changed over the years. Right now, I think I would say Shenmue II. I love exploring the world, and just taking in the scenery. I can somehow immerse myself in the life of Ryo unlike any other game. Multiplayer: No doubt, Goldeneye 007. I played...

Re: Best place to sell (Xbox) video games?

Yeah, ebay gets the highest price probably but it's a pain and you wind up forking over upwards of 30% of whatever you get. Maybe we can set up selling/buying threads on the forum? That would be neat, cut out the middle man and just sell them gamer to gamer.

Re: Time to bring back cartridges!

It will never ever happen, but it sure would be neat. MS and Sony really want to go download only. It allows much more control for them and even better anti-piracy than cartridges. Technically I'm sure a cartridge based console is totally feasible. The cost of the flash isn't that bad really. Most g...
