Re: VGC forum game trading section

I like and trust all of you, but unfortunately I think the community is too small here for the idea to work. At a bigger forum, like say Atari Age, there are enough people with a broad enough range of interests for the idea to work well. I don't think we have that here. The small group is great for ...

Re: Your Favorite Video Game Soundtracks?

Tons of great game soundtracks, BUT only one was so good that it actually inspired me to track down the soundtrack in order to listen to the music again when I was done playing it: Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. As far as real songs, Crazy Taxi, Jet Set Radio, and the early Tony Hawk games all ...

Re: Introducing the Nintendo Switch

Actually looks pretty cool. Like you, the portability aspect and portable-multiplayer aspect serve no purpose for me, since I play everything at home, but they're still interesting features. In practice, I bet that controller will be a lot more annoying to use than it looks. And I like the cartridge...

Pretty cool stuff. Thanks for sharing. For another good one from 1998, check this out:

I haven't watched it, but I believe it's a doc about the 2600's retro gaming resurgence.

Every Good System Dies Twice (a.k.a. Rule #1 of Game Collecting, longplay edition)

Every Good System Dies Twice. Or if you're an optimistic gamer, Every Good System Gets Two Lives. Tell me if I'm wrong (i usually am), but I'm making up this phrase today and claiming it's Rule #1 of video game collecting, as it truly sums up the collecting market in my opinion. In fact, in 30 years...

Re: RetroWorld Expo -- Oct. 15-16 -- Mark your calendars, Northeast gamers

I guess this is where I differ from others when it comes to collecting videogames. For me my collection has a value of exactly $0. I don't collect these things because they are worth money or to try and sell any of them. When I buy a game it's because I think it's cool/good and I want to add it to ...

Re: RetroWorld Expo -- Oct. 15-16 -- Mark your calendars, Northeast gamers

I'd have gone, if I didn't hate Conneticut with every fiber in my body. I feel like you either live in NY near NYC, or you live in RI, or you used to live in CT (I'm guessing the first one). If it's any of those three, then you're reasoning for hating CT (and, in those cases, I already know what it...

Re: RetroWorld Expo -- Oct. 15-16 -- Mark your calendars, Northeast gamers

Hey good to see some others who checked this out! I was surprised to see these responses. First off, I have to say that I enjoyed last year a little better. Perhaps it was because it was the first year, so it blew me away, whereas this year I had higher expectations. Perhaps stretching it to 2 days ...

Re: No More Coming Attractions

I rarely noticed it anymore, but I did like it. But if it's become a burden, I think we'll all survive without it. Plus, we get some insight into your future reviews in the "Now Playing" forum.

Re: New Castlevania Banner

"What is a man?" SotN is in my all-time Top 10, and yet that line didn't catch my attention at all back when I played it in the mid-2000s. I only recently learned that it had become a meme. I don't think it's that weird of a line though, especially compared to all the other bad translation...
