Re: RCA Studio II (1977) - console and games review - 40th Birthday Bonanza

If you're interested in under-powered systems here are two more: The Soundic SD-290 - Part of a series of 4-bit systems released in Asia by multiple manufacturers. http://www.old-computers.com/museum/computer.asp?st=2&c=1294 The Interton VC 4000 - A less-powerful predecessor to the Emerson Arca...

Re: New arcade machine

My bad - I missed that! Probably because it was at the bottom of the first page! LOL So do you still have all the other machines as well? Or have you rotated some out as you pick up a new one? I'm looking into my first arcade machine at the moment. Getting a Neo Geo MVS machine and deciding between...

Re: New arcade machine

It's DEFENDER! Doesn't stand out as a game with unusual controls, until you count all the buttons. 1. up/down stick 2. thrust 3. reverse 4. fire 5. smart bomb 6. hyperspace and that's not even counting the player 1/2 buttons. I'll try to post some photos soon. Also, plan to write a review. Haha, th...

Re: RCA Studio II (1977) - console and games review - 40th Birthday Bonanza

As a side note, I've had a Channel F for almost two years now and never booted it up! (a bad habit of mine), so maybe I'll do that in the next couple days and try to report back on which one I prefer. I think the general consensus is that the RCA Studio II was dead in the water from day one, because...

Re: RCA Studio II (1977) - console and games review - 40th Birthday Bonanza

On another note have you read about the European games (In colour no less) ? I believe they are compatible with your Studio but will just display in black and white. There is a Star Wars game and a somewhat limited Pinball game. Yeah, I saw those two games on ebay. I've only seen one copy of each e...

Re: Does Nintendo hate money?

I don't know what's the matter with them but the strategy seem to be working. With the NES Mini selling out in a blink of an eye, they have basically made sure that every Mini console they make is going to fly off the shelves, because these things are now perceived as highly sought after, valuable ...

Re: RCA Studio II (1977) - console and games review - 40th Birthday Bonanza

I was actually on Ebay one day when more than one of those PC-50x systems were being listed. I went to our fellow forum member Marriot Guys site http://www.videogameconsolelibrary.com/pg70-pc50x.htm#page=reviews to learn more. You'll see both Sut and I are in the comments below. There are about 7 g...

Re: New arcade machine

More good guesses! I recently saw a Tron machine a local arcade dealer, but I was never a big fan of the movie. Here are some more hints. This was a major arcade hit. A space game. The suspense is killing us here, Critic! At least me anyway. I think we're in need of confirmation or, if we haven't g...

Re: RCA Studio II (1977) - console and games review - 40th Birthday Bonanza

This is awesome. Thanks so much for taking the time to review all of thjs. The is a line of consoles called the PC-50X family that seems similar - Pong Plus, but with controllers. Thanks scotland. I figured an oldie like this would be up your alley! Since I don't foresee the VGC adding this one to ...

RCA Studio II (1977) - console and games review - 40th Birthday Bonanza

This week I added my 62nd gaming system to my collection and, as that number indicates, I'm at the point of bad judgment and total idioticness. Case in point is the newest addition - RCA Studio II. I don't collect much for pre-1985 consoles, so I actually hadn't even heard of this console until 2 ye...
