Re: Retron 77 by Hyperkin

I dont get the fascination with playing atari games at 1080p. Will it really make that single pixel square or that purple blobby thing much better?

I am more interested in this Atari Box thing. I am actually pretty excited to see what that is.

Black was part of the original release. I got the black one on a pretty order when it was first announced way back when. Had the death grip.

Re: Retron 5 Death Grip?

Mine was so bad that it ripped 3 of the pins out of the NES slot. I have been reading reviews of the new Retron 1 HD, and heard that it has death grips as well.

I suspect I could write a better review off the emulation, compared to squinting at that small screen.

If youre just going to emulate, play it on the PC and save yourself $200.

Re: Homemade reproduction labels

Man, this video has the gaming community up in flames right now. It was posted on Nintendo Age and those guys lost it. Personally, I could care less about this kind of stuff. Who knows, I may have a repro label in my collection that I dont know about? Whatevs though. I used to make my own reproducti...

Re: Is the best game you've ever played your favorite game?

I was thinking about this yesterday while watching a podcast that asked the same question. Like the critic, my favorite game is also Link to the Past, but I dont think its the BEST game I have ever played. Thats hard to say considering that my mood dictates the type of game I want to play. While I h...

Re: Castlevania (upcoming Netflix animated show)

What game was that at the beginning? Was it a homebrew/hack, or something they made for the trailer?

Not really a fan of that art style. I will give it a watch, but I dont think it will be for me. Hopefully its a hit though, as I would like to see a serious take on many early franchises.

Re: Need some help with an Odyssey 2

Good luck on the cap replacement. The cap set is pretty darn cheap if you feel like doing the electronics project. While you wait for the cap set, may I suggest you go ahead and clean that pin connector. It takes no special tools to open up the Odyssey 2. Give it a good cleaning or even a soak. Thi...

Re: Game Gear not working...

Seems like this has come up before, but just wanted some fresh input. Tried playing some Game Gear tonight. Tried with both batteries and AC adapter. When switched "On", the red LED and screen backlight came on for about a half-second before everything went black. Also, tried several cart...

Re: eed some help with an Odyssey 2

I bought an Odyssey2 last year that had a similar problem. If the grey screen has the exact same block pattern every time you turn it on, then your Odyssey is shot. Apparently it's some kind of chip that has to be completely replaced/soldered, so I just ended up getting another system altogether. N...
