Re: Old Web Sites

Yeah, the Internet Archive's Wayback Machine is a great service, but it can be buggy. If you know a URL you should probably use their main page to type it in: https://archive.org/web/ Here's the earliest version of CheatCC they have, from 1999: https://web.archive.org/web/19990417222158/http://www.c...

Re: R.I.P. NES Classic (Thanks, Nintendo!)

Initially producing a small number of units makes since to me. What would've happened if Nintendo decided to produce millions of Virtual Boys in anticipation of high demand? Overestimating ET's demand hurt Atari so badly they never recovered, and that game was a top 10 hit, if memory serves. That's ...

Re: IMDb closing their forums

Wow. Thanks for posting this. This is unfortunate. I would often go to IMDB after watching an old movie to check out the boards there. There could be a host of information. Hopefully the user reviews will remain, but maybe not. I remember when Netflix decided it was in 'our' best interest to remove...

Re: Movies You Like That No One Else Does

I read that after Dragonslayer did poorly at the box office I'm sorry to hear that it did poorly, as I like Dragonslayer a lot! It's very much in the vein of other late-1970s/early-1980s fantasy movies, which was a rich period for the genre (e.g. Excalibur). That dragon was cool, just wish they sho...

Re: Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy rated E10+ from the ESRB! (The PS1 versions where all rated regular E back then!)

Hmmm... The E10+ rating is newer that the Crash Bandicoot games. If the lower level T rated games are approved for E10+ it makes since that the upper level of the old K-A & E ratings might be bumped up a notch. Then again I thought E was the 10+ rating when Crash 2 & 3 came out, w/ K-A as an...

IMDb closing their forums

http://www.imdb.com/board/announcement From the looks of the announcement, they're going to delete all the content too. That bugs me. Even if I was never able to get an account (they wanted my phone or credit card number) I still liked the forum. There was a link to it at the bottom of every movie'...

Re: Dormant Sega Franchises

They should bring franchises back like the many mentioned from BanjoPickles. Here is one obscure one that should return someday, it is Floigan Bros. which originated on the Sega Dreamcast, was a very original/creative game that flopped because it came out near the end of the Sega Dreamcast, it does...

Re: Movies You Like That No One Else Does

Phantom Menace. I remember laying my eyes on Star Wars Episode I Racer (N64) at this daycare I used to go to when I was five years old, and it alone convinced me to watch the movie. My parents of course made sure I watched A New Hope first, before buying PM for me on VHS. All this ultimately turned...

The Day Time Ended a.k.a Timewarp (1979) A Charles Band movie from when he was just starting out, before he founded Full Moon Productions, or Empire Productions even. Plot: A family moves into a new house in the desert & ... things start happening. Involving a time warp. Basically it's just an e...
