Re: Atari Box update

The more I read about this, the more I think it will be a huge flop. I read they are trying to be an all-in-one set-top box. Haven't they learned ANY lessons from the past? Probably not, because this Atari isn't the same people. Sounds like these people don't understand games but want to make a qui...

Re: Internet Ads

I don't know when it happened, but sometime in the past few years most websites have turned into neo-AngleFires; slow, bloated, and covered with ads.

Thank you, Critic, for holding off.

B (or Z) Movie Budgets

B-movie budgets, adjusted for inflation. I've been wondering for awhil how much it would cost to make a movie. Not a big tent-pole film, but any movie, a minimal quality-doesn't-matter-let's-just-make-it B-Movie. So I looked up a few old B-films on Wikipedia, got their budgets, and ran them through ...

Re: PAL version of Airlock (Atari 2600) dumped; has upgraded graphics -- plus a nasty bug

Gotta wonder...would the Critic be willing to download/review the PAL version of this game, to do a comparison? To see if the differences are enough to make the game a pleasant experience?

If not, would you be willing to review both versions, goldenband?

Re: Male vs Female Game Characters

I found an online test authors can use to see if their characters are so-called Mary Sues. Ran it using what I knew of Luke and Rey. Rey passed, if only barely, but Luke failed miserably. But Luke had a disadvantage; the test asked about if the character agreed with the author's beliefs. I didn't kn...

Re: Atari Box update

This strikes me as the Ouya 2.0. Unless they somehow get some utterly mindblowing exclusives, I don't see this being anything other than a flop. I can see that too. But sometimes when the first person to try an idea fails, the next person can learn from their mistakes and succeed. Like the De havil...

Re: Atari Box update

Price sounds about right; better than a cell-phone. If it can deliver a good experience for that price it might just do well. Don't know if it comes with a controller. It should ; if it doesn't that'll be a major turn-off. I like the idea of a more open game system, but I'm afraid that'll make them ...

Atari Box update

Got an email. The Atari Box will be based around an AMD processor and will run Linux. Will be an open system instead of a closed system like most game systems. Will launch on Indigogo for 250-300 dollars this fall.

Re: All the way through?

I beat Bust-A-Move Millennium! Made it through the Story Mode yesterday. Can't say I mastered it, since I had to use continues. Also note that I haven't seen the whole game; the story mode has branching paths, and there are a few other modes, so "beat" might be a bit of hyperbole.
