2011/5/14: Wii: Boy and his Blob, A, De Blob, Super Mario All-Stars Limited Edition

Am I the only one who finds it odd that Nintendo essentially released a SNES game for the Wii? I hope this is not the start of a new trend.

There's also a version for the Famicom (NES) in Japan. Graphically it's pretty good for NES though a step or two below the TG-16 version.

2011/4/15: Commodore 64: Cauldron, Congo Bongo, Space Taxi

Good group to start with. Space Taxi was fun but I always hated the end of each level "Hey Taxi - Up Please" and you had to get through the tiny little space at the top of the screen... What a pain.

Anyway - C64 games definitely got more advanced as the years went on and I would l...

2010/11/20: Genesis: Air Buster, Ghouls 'N Ghosts, Street Smart

I never knew that Street Smart was released on the Genesis. I used to play the SNK arcade version while waiting for the bus in junior high school and later the emulated arcade version on the PC.

The Gen version definitely looks (and sounds) rough around the edges.

NFL 2K5

Critic, I know that you reviewed NFL 2k5 for the PS2 but you should really take a look at the XBox version. It is far better in terms of presentation, graphics and gameplay plus it allows roster updating, and using your own music for stadium sountracks.

The halftime, postgame, and sport...

2010/9/23: Turbografx-16: John Madden Duo CD Football, Magical Chase (Import)

Great reviews as always Dave. The unintentional hilarity of the Madden Duo FMV really adds some charm to the game.

Madden Duo (released in 1992) was kind of a hybrid between Madden '92 and Madden '93. It was also the first Madden to not use passing windows (at least two years befo...
