Re: OK I admit it mobile gaming sucks

It's the same problem as the downloadable game market - a VERY low barrier to entry. So we get a glut of bad games, and the good ones get lost in the mix. At least with physical media, the company needs to be committed. It has to be a half-way decent, finished game. They can't just toss out any piec...

Re: OK I admit it mobile gaming sucks

I never thought mobile gaming was going to be big because frankly I never had any interest in it. If it doesn't tickle my fancy, it ain't gonna fly. What amazes me is how there currently seems to be a CONSENSUS that mobile gaming does indeed SUCK! I don't even need to argue anymore. It's been settle...

Re: Dragster record being questioned

Considering all the doctoring technology we have today, I'd give more credence to a 1982 polaroid!

2018/1/31: Sega Master System: Castle of Illusion starring Mickey Mouse, Land of Illusion starring Mickey Mouse

Here are my reviews of two good (but not great) Sega Master System platformers.
I'd like to hear your thoughts.

Dead Pool (PS4)

I actually like this. It's like an interactive comic book. The button-mashing swordplay is like God of War, and the third-person shooting is also very well done. The camera gets lost in tight spaces, and there's a lot of chaos, but in general the gameplay is forgiving. The game has a lot of style. T...

Re: Predictions about the Death of Consoles

Atarifever - that's a really good point about people trying to get away from video screens. I know that when the weather is nice I really like sitting on the porch with a REAL book just to take a break. It feels good! Also, I associate computers with work so I would never take a computer device on v...

Street Fighter V Arcade edition

Somebody brought this to my attention, and I was thinking about getting it. After all, Street FIghter V was pretty good and with the extra characters and missing arcade mode it could be great. Then I read this description on Amazon: Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition will include all base content from...

Re: 2018/1/27: Nintendo Switch: I Am Setsuna (Japan)

Does the "save" system even matter on the Switch? If you're going back and forth between games I get it. But I've found I can set mine to sleep mode and Mario is exactly where he was when I went into the home menu. Is I Am Setsuna any different in that regard? This might be a stupid quest...

Re: 2018/1/27: Nintendo Switch: I Am Setsuna (Japan)

I complained about Chrono's save system in my DS review, but the original game is 20+ years old so we can cut it some slack. I wouldn't have affected my progress. If anything, the lack of save points kept me playing long after I had lost interest. Outside of the lousy save system this feels nothing ...
