Re: New Music Thread

I've mentioned the reunited Swans before in another thread, but there's no reason to not bring them up again. I'm trying to avoid older acts in these recommendations, but this is pretty much a brilliant new band that happens to have the same name and leader as a brilliant old band. Recommended album...

The Great Giana Sisters is worthless, but the C64 has tons of awesome games. Project Firestart, Turrican II, and Exile are some of the most perfect classics on any 8-bit system.

Re: Pitfall: The Mayan Adventure (32X)

It's pretty bad. The SNES version is the worst because of the cramped field of view, but the others have the same sloppy controls, incoherent level design, graphics that make it hard to tell where you can and can't go, and generic enemies. And Harry Jr. still falls over like a moron whenever he runs...

Re: Most valuable game?

Link: Faces of Evil, CD-i, around $150 on eBay Seriously? I grabbed that for a buck or two at a thrift store some years back. It's in perfect condition, too; it even has the little cardboard sleeve around the case. After checking eBay, it looks like that detail puts it into the $300 range! In that ...

Re: Wipeout: The Omega Collection (PS4)

I haven't played any Wipeout games, but just bought my first one last week... Wipeout XL for the PS1. Hoping to try it out soon. Wipeout XL is all right. It's definitely the most "arcade-y" in the series and probably the easiest to get into (which is most likely why it's so popular), but ...

The Dreamcast might have been underrated when it was on the market, but hardly today. At this point, reverence for it is all but orthodoxy.

I am seriously considering a PS4 just for this.

Re: What are the most overrated and underrated consoles???

Neo Geo I have never played (except Hamster remakes on the Switch) but it seems to be pretty overrated. Too expensive, too many similar games, just not enough selection, it was way too over-hyped, and the graphics really aren't all that much better than the SNES. Nope. It was literally an arcade bo...

There's your explanation. They're kinda cute for five minutes out of a 90-minute movie. They're insufferable as a fad infecting day-to-day life. But they'll never regain the saturation they had a few years ago, so it's a moot point.
