Re: 2016/11/30: Nintendo 64: Goldeneye 007, 007: The World Is Not Enough, Perfect Dark

It's fun to see a sacred cow get called out, and watch the defenders and the critics get to say their piece. I'm definitely a defender of Goldeneye, and as I said most of my passion for the game revolves around it being a great, faithful reincarnation of a James Bond experience. I agree with Jon th...

Re: Confess Your Unpopular Video Game Opinions

- I prefer the look of many 3D 5th-generation games to 3d 6th-generation games; the more abstracted forms of the 5th-generation ended up aging better than some of the more "uncanny valley" 3d modeling of the following generation. Can I ask what exactly you mean by this? I just want to cla...

Re: Confess Your Unpopular Video Game Opinions

I'm going to take some heat for my list: 1). I find most diehard Nintendo fans to be annoying with their nonstop rationalizing of every dopey Nintendo blunder. 2). I am convinced that the DS is the best system, game for game, that Nintendo has ever released. This, however, is coming from a retro en...

Re: Confess Your Unpopular Video Game Opinions

In regards to #5, I couldn't agree more! I honestly love having a digital library! I have amassed a very sizeable digital collection for my 3DS, PS Vita, and Wii U! With the exception of unattainables (i.e. all of the great licensed Capcom/Konami games, games by companies that no longer exist, game...

Re: Confess Your Unpopular Video Game Opinions

- As terrible as the Genesis/Megadrive sound chip is, I think it sounds much more interesting and full of life than the SNES sound chip (which always made me think of educational computer games). - I prefer the look of many 3D 5th-generation games to 3d 6th-generation games; the more abstracted for...

Again, all I hear is multiplayer as if that should have any bearing on how good the game is. And sure for all I know there is a revolutionary way of playing FPS's and the control scheme renders Goldeneye obsolete and no one should touch it with a 10 foot pole. You can't look at it from an FPS persp...

Re: Best Video Games of the Past 10 Years

I want to add Dragon Age: Origins to this list. Not the expansion or the sequels, but just the basic game. Best RPG experience since Baldur's Gate II

What do you mean when you state "this game hasn't aged well"? It can't just be graphics because Warlords and Adventure have very primitive graphics, yet they're considered timeless classics. Just curious. As someone who helped play-test these titles with the Critic for his revision, I can...

Re: Movies That Get Better Upon Multiple Viewings

You said many of the movies I would say. I will add almost all Tarentino films to the list. Specifically Django and Pulp Fiction you'll catch much more on the 2nd watchings.

Re: The 8-bit Home Computer Users Thread

Reading the Critic's Commodore review has made me interested in it. I'm not in the financial place currently to add systems, but a long time goal of mine has been to replace the systems that I've lost over the years. (Parents made me give them up... something I'm still bitter about 2 decades later.....
