Nintendo really needs better marketing

Okay, so I'm really excited about the release of the New 3DS.....but there are a few things that are bothering me: I'm a bit confused by it. It's still compatible with the original 3DS, so therefore it's just an upgrade. However, in the case of games like Xenoblade Chronicles, it's also a brand new ...

Sega's Depressing Legacy

And Bayonetta 2 wasn't even their game! They squandered Streets of Rage, the Shining Force series, Phantasy Star, Vectorman, Altered Beast, Toejam and Earl, Ecco the Dolphin, Panzer Dragoon, Nights, Shenmue, Jet Grind Radio, Space Channel, Daytona, Sega Rally, Outrun, Golden Axe, Virtua Racing, etc....

Sega's Depressing Legacy

So, I was going through my PS3 games when I came across Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection. I marveled at the abundance of quality games on the collection, but it got me thinking: Sega seems content to let their entire history be summed up solely by their 16-bit output. We'll never get a comprehens...

Why has there been no crash like in 1983

Jon, the numbers don't lie, man. Donkey Kong Country was a huge hit, but what else? Nothing on the Jaguar was a hit. In fact, 16-bit gaming kept the industry alive until the PS1 made the next generation viable. If you want to know how well the industry was doing back then, check out a list of millio...

If you want a good, retro fighting game, I would highly recommend Fatal Fury Special for the game gear! It's stunning what they managed to pack into that little cartridge!

Why has there been no crash like in 1983
I don't remember anything about the industry being in a crisis in like 94-95. It actually was an amazing time for video games, I could give a darn who thinks otherwise. The magazines were all about the upcoming PS1 and "Ultra 64". And they were doing reviews for all sorts of systems, no o...

Why has there been no crash like in 1983

... A lot of people don't know this, but there WAS almost another crash in the mid-90's. It took Donkey Kong Country and the release of the PS1 to revive the industry.
Now I can read Jon did not *like* how video games were changing in the mid...

Why has there been no crash like in 1983

Gaming is no longer the niche hobby that it used to be, for starters. I believe that the 2600 sold 12 million units over it's twelve year run. That's a vast difference from the 22 million the GameCube sold, which was considered a disappointment. How many different genres existed back then? You had s...

Minecraft (PS4)

This is one of those "I respect it but I'm not really into it" sort of games. I like that the designer tried something that was against the grain of what is currently popular and saw it succeed.

.....but yeah, the concept alone makes me tired. I can't imagine dumping 100+ hours into it!

Ultimate NES Remix (3DS)

Nope, just little challenges from each game. Some of the challenges are timed, and some aren't. Each of the sixteen games has anywhere from 7-20+ challenges that vary in difficulty. There are also remix challenges where you play certain snippets of a game with characters from another game. For examp...
