Which Past System do You Miss Playing the Most?

I recently picked up a Vectrex. I've played Vectrex games via emulation for years, but never had a chance to play on the real McCoy, even though I remember them being for sale 'back in the day'.

The Vectrex is such a great cons...

2015/2/17: Odyssey 2: Death Race

I don't think I ever played it myself BITD, but I remember watching my older brother play Death Race in the arcade, and I definitely remember reading newspaper stories about it at the time.
I think that this is a fairly accurate conversion, except that the arcade game was actually in bla...

What if Atari's Pac-Man was better?

Naw. I was there BITD and no one who played Pacman VCS hated it enough that it would have made any difference. It's not THAT bad of a a game....

One game can not change the world.

Reviews Too Hard To Read?

I do find the edited version to be slightly easier to read. Keep all the detail (I think your quick reviews are already just the right level of detail) but wider line spacing does help a bit.

When does a game become classic/retro?

For me, retro is 8-bit. I'm not sure I'd even call SNES or Genesis retro, though I know most folks would.

The 8-bit Home Computer Users Thread

I have a VIC-20 with a MegaCart, and every once in a while I connect it to my TV and play some games. For such a basic system, it actually has some good arcade conversions. Atarisoft in particular did a great job with some games.

I owned an 800XL with a 1050 drive for several ...

Favourite Early 80's Arcade Game?

I remember playing a cocktail version of Omega Race as a kid and thinking it was terrific. There are a couple of half-decent home conversion, but they don't quite measure up to the original arcade version.

I thought Tempest was a great arcade original. And of course Star Wars ...

Maybe when you review a homebrew, you can post details on where a copy might be purchased. It looks like a worthy purchase, so I guess I will go ask my friend Mister Google where I can buy it.

2015/1/31: Jaguar: Val d'Isere Skiing and Snowboarding

This, Super Burnout, and Iron Soldier were the first games I ever played on a Jaguar. I think it's a pretty decent skiing game, and the 'undulating hills' actually do seem to make you feel as if you are diving up and down rapidly.
